Thanks!! Yeah, I have a bunch. I had my mom get a subscription back in the 80's since i was not old enough to get on one my own. I still have the majority of them.
I used to have those bird a Gretzky first covers. I also had a Jim Kelley and a Hershel walker ones when they were on the USfl. My buddies mom got a bunch at yard sale in the early 90s. I think I traded 1991 topps stadium club Ricky Irving's rookie for them. Love the 80s covers.
Personally I like the subscription issue better. The large orange box on the Newsstand issue blocks a large portion of Maris and is very distracting.
The orange box is loosely stuck on the cover and could be removed, although the residue would be similar to the subscription label. The fact that it's still on there after 50 years is pretty remarkable.
That's a very nice Newsstand Edition Roger Maris issue. To find that issue with the 60 Sticker still on it in that condition is tough to do. Just to keep this thread going I will add a few pictures of my magazines.
Always looking to buy old Minnesota Twins and Vikings memorabilia like Nodders, Photo Pennants, and Photo Buttons.
As a huge Ben Hogan fan I have always loved the photo of his famous 1-iron shot at Merion. I have a framed black & white poster sized photograph of it in my den.

I hadn't seen that one until earlier when mj23kg21 posted it. Now I'm going to have to chase a few of those old golf covers.

Another of my favorite golf issues, A young Arnold Palmer in 1962.
