I was thinking about this dealer a week or so ago. My thoughts were that we had not had a post about him in quite some time and I have not run across any of his eBay auctions in a while...not that I've looked terribly hard.
We purchased a large amount of Gold and Silver that has not yet been delivered to us, and it has highly impacted our cash flow and ability to fulfill our orders.
Is this the same company where the owner (presumably) was pictured in eBay listings in thoughtful repose while looking at a book that was reportedly upside down?

Call me stupid but I am not mailing someone 168k for gold and silver. I will pick mine up in person or have it shipped and then I pay.
Once these companies rip a few people then they get to greedy and rip to many. Fail to deliver on a few orders and business as usual, fail to deliver to enough in a short time and get a knock on the door.

You are correct!! Most every business is going to have a few unhappy campers, mine included, but when more than a few start going to the police it means no solution was reached between the parties. I never send more money than I am willing to lose, so my level is under 10k.

This is the same seller accused of having a shady buying aspect to them in the past. Don't have the link but someone accused them of tacking advantage of the elderly and ripping a large collection for a very low price compared to the actual value. BTW not stating as a fact, just stating this is not the first time bad things have been said about bluemoon.
I got a negative feedback for a token that cost the customer a dollar, online. I even gave her the money back including shipping. I didn't lose it. But the pen is mightier than the person using it.

I would toatally agree - I would be in a knapsack at a coin show.
bluemoon coins is the seller that was sandblasting those ASE's and selling them as reverse proofs I think. Doing it to peace dollars too that was a few years back

Yes, and no.
The book, at least, was right-side-up.
( Though I'm sure it got Photoshopped plenty of times, as widely parodied as that picture was. )

If you read the article, it does not mention Kenny Vilkins anywhere. It is possible that he sold the company and the new owner is the one in hot water?
Blue moon changed their name on ebay some months (at least) ago. I think its something like "coinssince1992" or something. I have bought from them many times through ebay and never had a problem

No problems here either. Prices could be a bit rich, but they often would negotiate to a market clearing price.
I didn't realize that Blue Moon had changed its name. They had 100% positive feedback score of over 20,000. My dealings with them were always excellent.
I got an email from "Mandy at Coins" a month ago with the same smiling guy holding 2 gold bars. I didn't realize it was a new company. They had my email address because I had communicated with them before. It seems they were trying to do some biz away from eBay.
Blue Moon was one of my saved sellers, and they disappeared from my list.
They must have disintegrated rapidly on eBay to scrap such a successful name.
I stopped buying and selling on eBay over a year ago and only transact business at shows. Cash and carry.
neither article that I read locally mentioned Kenny V so I suspect this may have something to do with the new owners. Also, the address where I have dealt with Kenny is not listed in the articles, which also makes me think this is a new owner.
I've only had two deals with him. Sold him a few thousand wheat cents I had accumulated from bags @ a fair price. Later, I took in a Lafayette $ that I had gotten as part of a lot at an antique auction. It was slabbed, but I don't recall by which TPG. When he saw it, his first action was to reach for a Blue Book to find a price. I told him if he was going to use Blue Book for pricing we couldn't reach a deal. We did eventually work out a fair price for the $. Since that episode I found other folks to deal with.
I live in my own world. But it's OK, they know me there.
ANY high volume bullion seller is subject to failure if it's business model does not consider fluctuating metal prices. Those that work under the "it can only go up" concept, learn the hard way. Failure is also guaranteed when today's buyer is supplied with tomorrow's purchases.
