Question about silver bars.

Do any of you pay a premium for attractive colorful toning when buying a collectable silver bar? I'm not talking about regular tarnish here. Does colorful attractive rainbow toning bring any premium on eBay compared to a similar bar that's all white?

Unlike coins, I do not pay a premium for toned bars. It all depends on ones taste.

Most coin collectors don't pay a premium for fancy colorful toning on coins but enough do to affect the market for these coins. I guess when the silver bar doctors start ATing silver bars we'll know that silver bars have become a mainstream collectable.imageimage

I don't usually pay extra for toning. If a bar has ugly toning I may dip it but if the toning is attractive, I would certainly leave it alone. I can see a time where vintage bars are being counterfeited and original toned surfaces have a premium since they help authenticate a bar as being an original.
