    Neat coin. Queen Elizabeth?

Yes, Queen Elizabeth the 1st, three pence. It was minted sometime around 1579, you can clearly see the date. I think she looks pretty good for being over 400 years old.image

Thanks, fun and interesting way to have bullion that I'm going to be sitting on and looking at for a while until they make new highs someday in the distant future

Baley, do you know where that doubloon was struck or who struck it? Is all of that stuff generic bullion?

It's all Gallery Mint. The gold is 22k, the silver .8924, the copper pure. Hand engraved dies (with die varieties!) , struck on screw press over 20 years ago by Ron Landis & Joe Rust.

Not a new purchase, but I did get this submission back from PCGS yesterday:

I did buy this as a speculation, right when the 2013-W Plats went dark:

Nice SD (stack of deposit). Beats a CD.

Not really. Five out 8 that I thought were possibilities (only 1 Plat out of 4 - not the one shown, which was a purchase from GC). Two others I was pretty sure were 69s, so they don't count.

What gets me is that I was fairly confident on two of the Plats I submitted that came back as 69s. Grrrr. It's been relatively hard for me to make Plat 70s.
