I've been saving a few coins for possible grading, but I have no clue how close my grading estimates would match a TPG's. I'll find that out later, probably.
I only have one roll to post tonight, but at least I'm getting caught up enough that I should have more tomorrow.
I forgot to take a pic "before opening" this roll, but here is Roll 19:

I got busy with some pics this afternoon. Here's Roll 20 just before I opened it. There are several of these dark magenta/green/gun metal toned coins that I really like:

Q: Are You Printing Money? Bernanke: Not Literally
Have'nt seen a recent post. Are you finished? It would be nice to see a group picture!!
I have 13 more rolls to go.
I was on the road all last week, and I'm just getting caught up with some work. I was also in the process of getting some of these coins ready for submission to PCGS, but I called Customer Service with a question, and now I have some reservations about what to do next.
I asked about getting these coins designated as a "hoard", but I don't know if it's worth the effort. I can provide plenty of documentation about how I obtained the rolls and the coins that I've taken from the rolls, because of the photos I've posted here, both this year and in 2007. There are quite a few coins that could be submitted, but I have reservations, especially if I'm required to incur the expense of submitting so many coins at one time before I can get a determination of "hoard status". I'd really prefer to submit maybe 10 or 15 coins at a time, but I'd like to know the rules of getting a "hoard status" established before I submit a bunch of coins. I don't like having bits & pieces of a policy and not get an answer.
Anyhow, that's where I'm at. I'll probably have time to document a few more roll openings this week.
Q: Are You Printing Money? Bernanke: Not Literally
So, I got sidetracked for awhile and I had to set this project aside. Now I've got a little time to do some more photos, so here we go. I picked Roll 23 with a gun metal coin showing (with hints of rose and green), because sometimes that is an indicator that the coin on the "paper end" is toned. You just never know until you open the roll.
Here is a "before" pic of Roll 23:
Here is Roll 23 opened up:
Here is the coin from the "open end":
Here is the coin from the "paper end", not as colorful as I had hoped, but OBW Rolls are like a box of chocolates................
If you'll notice the obverse of the coin from the paper end of Roll 23, it looks like it has been aggressively buffed or whizzed, but that is from the die. I've found many of the coins from these 1959-P rolls had this type of die polishing, in addition to the more familiar type of "regular" die polishing marks.
On to Roll 24. This roll has some color development on the coin from the "open end" but as you can see, the coin on the "paper end" didn't get much love over the 55 years that it sat at the bottom of the roll.

Roll 25 will probably be my last roll for today, and I wanted to post at least one really nice coin in order to keep some interest in this thread alive. On the other hand, I'm saving some of the best for last. The coin from the "open end" has the beginnings of some nice color, but when I got to the bottom of the roll and looked at the coin from the paper end, I was pleasantly surprised. It has waves of color across the obverse. Nice in hand, too!

Did you find out any more info on the hoard designation> Have you sent out any for grading? Very neat thread that shows just how colors can form on a coin with some irregularity and similar colors on different elevations.

Not yet. I haven't inquired, and I don't know that the threads I've posted would provide sufficient documentation for PCGS. I might still ask, but for the moment, I've decided just to have fun appreciating the novelty of it.
I'm putting all of the nicest toners aside for possible grading, in addition to any interesting anomalies on some of the coins. I'm also keeping a few for grading at a later date. If I sent in all of the candidates that I wanted to, it could get pretty costly.
My intention is to proceed along these lines and then to start submitting a few, offer some coins for and see what happens from there. I'll also be selling what amounts to "picked over" rolls in paper Chase Manhattan wrappers as BU bullion dimes.

Crypto's wife is wrong. This is very cool.
The coin on the open end was pretty dark and crusty, and the darkened edges penetrated about 6 coins deep into the roll.
But, even though the edges were dark, the coins themselves were still nice & bright:
Here is the coin from the "open end" of Roll 26, (very crusty):
