First time since 2008. One-ounce only for the moment, hopefully fractionals and fractional proofs will follow.

    Good news!

Apmex already has them on their website at $89.99 over spot per coin.

Fractionals would get my attention. Don't have any plat but a quarter or half eagle would be very very tempting.

    Ressurecting an old thread.
    -----------------------------------

How did these do? Did they sell many?

They did not do a 2014-W Burnished Uncirculated platinum eagle, correct?

Are they going to do either bullion or Burnished Uncirculated platinum eagles in 2015?

    Mintage of 16,900 in 2014.
No proof or burnished version was sold. Neither were fractionals. image
    I haven't heard anything about 2015.

I've always liked the original partial reverse proof finishes found on the 1997 through 2003 uncirculated issues. I know it was a cost issue in prepping the dies, but the regular uncirculated finish just doesn't have that pizzazz.

In 2014, 1 oz. proofs were struck as usual, with a unique reverse for the year. This year will be the same, 1 oz. bullion and proof platinum eagles will be issued.

I stand corrected, proof version was issued. I was looking at the mintage on the bullion page.
