Coins in mint cello

Should I remove them and if so what should I store them in?

    I'd guess that it depends on why you need to remove them, airtites work well as do coin albums.

    I think I read something about the cello being made with PVC or am I crazy?

    If you are talking about Proof sets from the 1955 to 1964 era, I would leave them alone. The mint packaging preserves them surprisingly well, and they are much easier to sell when the times comes. Ditto for the mint sets from the same era.
