Mickey - of course I know that is a possibility. There are red flags on both sides, buyer and PO, it is ebay I have a problem with. I literally now have a ding for a case closed against me, without ever being given a chance to research in the period they agreed to (48 hours), or giving a refund on faith (if they didn't agree to the 48 hours) so that I would not get dinged. Ebay acted in bad faith, period, regardless of why I am out a semi expensive card.
From what it sounds like the buyer was being honest. If you didn't receive any mail that day it's obvious the replacement postal worker f**ked up. The card was probably in that delivery along with all of your bills and nude magazines
I'm sorry eBay screwed you over, they should have given you a bit of time to look into it. Although, in hind sight, nothing relevant came to light in the 48 hours so it was a wash any way. I think this is just a horrible case of postal laziness. Good luck and let us know if anything happens!
Too many holes in this deal for my liking. Contact the postmaster personally again and tell him/her if they can't provide you answers then you wish to contact the postal inspector office serving your area. For all you know it's a postal employee who has your card. It happens...in fact a local carrier here is now residing in federal prison for intercepting packages with coins jewelry and bullion at a local branch PO and then selling them at various locations in the region. Seems the jig was up when one dealer recognized his own holders when the guy came in to sell. Oops.

Yes! This really does happen. It's happened to me a couple of times and the employee was fired. My cards magically showed up, but they were still fired. Last year my comic books just stopped showing up whenever there was a replacement employee when my regular driver was gone. Usually a week later they would show up, out of package in one of those official USPS plastic things, and obviously read with creases and whatnot. It happens all the time.
It's unfortunate, but this is what happens with a "non-profit" operation. It really doesn't matter if they turn a profit or not. It is a agency that must be maintained as it is one of the forces that moves the economy/country. Much like the airlines, which also move the economy, both groups lose billions but the mail is still delivered, albeit with questionable efficiency, and the planes still fly. Both, regardless of profit/loss.

I'm sorry to hear about your eBay selling fiasco. I hope it turns out well for you.
I went and looked at your eBay auctions and bought a couple of cards, I hope this helps to lessen the pain in some very little way.
Take care,

I'd still very much like a straight answer on the situation and can't get one.
Interestingly, my daughter is all worked up about a catalog she didn't get, but all her friends did the same day (coincidently, the day the card was delivered somewhere and I got no mail at all).
The worst thing is that I KNOW they can tell what address it went to, even though that is not part of "delivery confirmation" as a different PO did it for me on the other end for a card I shipped to NM. In that case, they were just helping a regular customer, with no element of local CYA.

I just received my 2 beautiful cards. These 2 eBay auctions went absolutely flawless and I will certainly check your auctions on a regular basis. Even though you may have been wronged 101%, at least you now have a "New" customer that won't screw you over. I left you + feedback too.

Unlike the impeccable service you get from a "for-profit" operation. For example, eBay.
<< <i>Let's not forget what the OP wrote in his original post. The card was bubble wrapped twice then sent in as padded mailer. No way that card ever gets damaged, and probably no way the scammer even sent it back. I don't know about other sellers, but in the last 6 months I've had more buyers claim damage to the holders ( I always bubble wrap and ship in a box) and want partial refunds. Again, eBay just enables this crap >>
You ship in a box and still get complaints about cracked holders? How does that happen? Do you ask them for photos of the damaged box and holder?
Now their excuse will be that we cannot talk about an ongoing investigation. They should just settle with you, but they won't.
In the story the carrier says he resigned, it also states he is still employed pending the outcome. He IS getting paid, you are NOT. Says alot about the USPS system right there folks!
Just saw this story on local news tonight, Jim. Unreal. This dirtbag dumped hundreds of pieces of mail in dumpsters. He ought to do hard time for this. His mother sounds like a real POS, too. Unreal.

I've been there, friend. I know how it feels. Let me tell you, as enraged and frustrated as you feel, it will pass. If not already, soon.
I have heard that laughter adds years and stress takes them away. Surely your life is more valuable to you than the outcome of this eBay transaction.
Take a few deep breaths and follow this through in a relaxed manner. Treat yourself because you deserve it. Then proceed with other business.
