Looks pretty minor and even so I think there's a chance it might even go higher then AU55.

Possibly. The last two coins I sent in with this older style ANACS photo certificate graded AU55/55 came back from PCGS as MS62. A seated half and a bust half.

I think that it is minor, but it's the kind of thing that would prompt me to pass on the coin.

At least no one got a file to try the fix it. Then it would have been "game over."

It may well grade, but might not be worth the grading cost. The raw value puts it into the PCGS Economy class of $300 max, but Economy does not include gold.

Why not sell it, and buy a replacement that is already graded?

i would pass on it because you can find a better example with more searching...unless you are getting a heck of a deal.
