Major error eye candy #2: 125% struck through cloth
Struck through cloth errors aren't exactly common, but most examples have the cloth weave obscuring only part of the design. Coins that are 100% struck through cloth are much harder to find. This example is "125%" struck through cloth.
(1984) 1c double struck. First strike: 100% struck through cloth. Second strike: 100% struck through cloth, 75% off-center at K-8 uniface.
This is a zinc cent. I've sort of convinced myself that the date is 1984, not that it really matters.

I have many struck thru cloth coins as they are one of my favorite types of strike thru.
I have couple of 100 percenters but this 125% is just awesome.

I like these strike-throughs because the obstruction (cloth) is soft enough to where some of the design still transfers to the coin. Unlike metal/wood/etc strike-thrus that just create a void in the coin's surface.
These are neat strike-throughs, regardless of what makes the pattern on the coin.

And of course the date matters! Glad you can make one out.

<< <i>Struck through cloth or struck through duct tape? A couple of the more seasoned error folks I know believe that most of what we have always called "struck through cloth" are actually struck through duct tape (or similar) that was not removed from the face of the die.

I recently bought an ANACS Struck thru Duct Tape Error, super cool.

FWIW, I think that is an '85.

<< <i>Very unique.... and, as always, I wonder how it escaped the Mint.... Cheers, RickO >>
the method probably involved having to use soap and water afterwards.
THAT is just how much people like having their errors!
