Newest Add to my collection and a great report from a local show

There was a local show today and while I had to work, I took an early (I may or may not have made it an extended image ) lunch and went over to meet the autograph guest and start my quest for collecting a 1974 Topps set (I realized it was 40 years since I started collecting as a kid).

Anywho, I was very happy to see the show mobbed. About 70-75 tables, aisles crowded, and lots and lots of kids. I actually had to cycle back to a couple of dealers to look at their stock they had so many customers. Really good to see.

The autograph guest?? The all-time champion in goalie masks - Gerry Cheevers. My favorite non-Orr Bruin. When I heard he was going to be at the show, I had to find the right item to get autographed. I am not a big fan of the figurines, but I saw the McFarlane figure, and thought it would be great as a signed item. Was I ever right. This beauty will get a front center spot in my soon-to-be-built man-cave. Enjoy!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

All the McFarlanes are nice, but the Goalie ones are a step above. Very nice image

Great to see that the show was attended by so many kids. Card/coin shows are lacking in their attendence of kids. They are the future conservators of the cards/coins we now hold.

I am not familiar with recent figurines, but have to say the detail in that piece is amazing. Certainly several steps (or floors) above the Starting Lineups I grew up with (I still have a soft spot in my heart for those though - sort of like 8-bit video games). Great to hear local shows doing well. The last local show I attended - put on by Anthony (Griffins) in the LA area, was also well attended.
Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.
