I should have elaborated and said cut up for TPG. Unfortunate that anyone would buy a card like that raw.

I'm not familiar with this issue. I know there are blackless 82 Topps cards, are there any legitimate 82s that have this kind of back? I also have a few 82 Topps "blank backs," but those have no color or anything on back.

Makes you wonder about Topps Vault -- either their stuff is not from "the vault" or perhaps these did go out the back door a la upper deck... either way, not good. The notion that somebody had to tell Topps that they were not Topps boggles the mind, or makes one very dubious.
