Off topic...does this opal look real?

Hey guys,

Long time member on the coin and currency side. Hoping I can get some help. I know some of you buy jewelry.

Is this a real opal? link


If it's not, I'll buy a real opal for it and replace it. But it looks real to me. Any ideas?

    You can probably get a better answer than mine, but I did work for a jeweler some years ago and the opals that we handled did not have that kind of radiance.

    Much depends on the lighting used to photograph the item..... trying to judge a stone from a photograph is not really possible..Cheers, RickO
