I have been using CFL lights in larger/bulky desk lamps. I love the quality of the light, the low temps etc...but moving them around to get the best angles to reveal luster has been problematic sometimes. The housing for the lamps just get in the way and I want to drive them through the lens. These LED lights are much smaller, are up to 2' Tall, light weight, many people use them with great success, they are only $9.99 each, they don't get hot, they can be diffused easily if you want by putting a tissue over them with a rubber band etc.... I have high hopes with them.
