    Group rip, anyone?
  • Steve is also listing 1986 Topps Football wax. No surprises here with the increased prices. Shorter supply, more competition to buy, and increased buy prices translate to higher sell prices on the retail end. Let's see how quick these boxes are devoured.

Can't begin to tell you guys how many times a business meeting has coincided with BBCE reloading. Tried to pull the trigger on a couple of boxes, but I'm not even sure my damn gun went off.

How am I supposed to build a collection when work keeps interfering?

Noticed that the 81 Topps box was at $240 a box. Wasnt that only about $100 last year?

Yes, a little over a year ago. There appears to be significantly less 1981 out there than 1982 or 1983.
Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.

Glad I caught a deal on a 82,83,84,85 Donruss unopened lot right before Christmas on eBay. The way prices keep going up, I currently have no intention of opening anything pre 86. Might just have to look into vending boxes for my unopened collection as it seems like the only thing in my reach right now.

I guess I jumped into unopened about 6 months too late as I began collecting boxes last spring. Wish I woulda jumped on 79-82 when those prices were way lower. Amazing what a years difference can make.

Good time to sell. This looks like the housing bubble.

Not surprised with the price hikes at all...

I order some stuff from BBCE last week. I happened to also look at their current "buy" prices... many of the boxes I used to buy from them, they are now offering to pay more (sometime substantially more) for them now, than what I was buying them from them before 1-3 years ago!

    I paid <$100 a couple years back (think I got 81T D and F for about $170 combined).

I picked up a nice looking box locally for $140 when BBCE prices jumped to $200ish.
