TUCSON Coin Show Jan. 17-18, 2014!

ThePennyLadyThePennyLady Posts: 4,451 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm headed to the Tucson Coin show tomorrow where it will be about 80 degrees so those of you in the cold weather states may want to take a little break and join us in Tucson! It opens at 10am both days, and there will be about 80 tables from around the country. The Tucson Convention Center is very easy to get to and is located right off the 10 freeway on Church Street.

I have heard about the show for years and was told that there are many token dealers there.
Is that true? Tokens as in HTT's. CWT's and Merchant cards.

Stef, there are a few token dealers, but the one who has the nicest is Tony Tumonis who runs the show. He's got some real beauties, including Conder tokens!

I live in Tucson and may have to pop in to the show since I haven't gone for a little while now.

There are wineries in the Sonoita/Elgin area, about one hour southeast of Tucson. But the quality of the wines isn't that great.

Sorry Ricko, although I will be drinking plenty of wine, I won't be doing a report for this show (I'm still wiped out from FUN!) :-(

However, just for you, I'll be having a very tasty Callaway Special Selection Cab this afternoon!

Tucson is lovely this time of year.
I made the six hour drive from San Diego yesterday.
Omni is my preferred brand and this location was fun.
I don't golf but the view of the course from the room is worth the golf cart noise below.

I cruised the floor today for around 90 minutes.
Collector traffic seemed steady and in-line with this small show.

    Apart from Charmy's inventory, there was not much that interested me;
This may be due in part to not having a plan or waking up this morning with a migraine.
I did end up buying some XF-AU Walkers and G+ Barbers at a great price.

A short walk to El Minuto for lunch.
This place never disappoints and I'll probably eat there again tomorrow.

It was a short drive back to the hotel pool as it was nearly 80 F here today.
I didn't wait 30 minutes after eating before swimming. I'm rogue that way.
A few sculpins in my room to facilitate this report, then it's off to the steak house downstairs.

I'll go back to the show tomorrow morning with fresh eyes.

Friday was busy for me and it was handy to have Charmy here to trade with. It is sunny and 75 deg. here. Today there are more lookers than buyers, so far at least.
