Being a UNC MBA grad are you as shocked as I am that MJ would so easily misplace what most consider among their biggest achievements, getting their college degree, especially a place as prestigious as North Carolina? Like MJ's father says to MJ as a kid, "North Carolina's a real fine school, you'll get a first class education!"

Granted UK is nowhere near as academically prestigious as North Carolina or Duke but I am still VERY proud of my two BA's from Kentucky (and all the wonderful memories that go with it) just the same! image

Interesting find. Being a UNC MBA grad, I would love to get a hold of that UNC diploma.

Being a native North Carolinian, though an NC State fan, I am blown away by the Dean Smith letter as it is simply amazing. What makes it so great is one is able to pinpoint the meeting of these two legends and to see the sincerity in Coach Smith's letter. I wouldn't be surprised to see it end up as a showpiece for a Carolina fan/graduate.

The Dean Smith letter is the gem here....I agree....awesome.

Lesson Learned: Never give your possessions to a restaurant...and when it goes bankrupt, get them back! I bet now he is going to bid on them...it will be a drop in the bucket...but still a pain in the you know what.

    WOW.

Ken Goldin does a nice job of pitching it! image

These items will certainly be tough to forecast as he points out. If someone close to Jordan gets involved these could fetch big money for sure as the bidding would get quite competitive.

100% agreed here. Kinda reminds me of when Kobe's mom tried to auction off all of his high school memorabilia. Not the same thing here, but parallels that deal.

You guys do realize that this show is fixed, right?

Are you saying this is all BS?

  • I read an article about this, high dollar items being placed inside these lockers.

Sorry, from the title of the thread I thought it was "discovered" on the television show. I'm not saying the items they discover on the show are BS, just that they are planted there beforehand.

    Cool find though.

I get it now....I put the title up there to catch the forums eyes...the items were not found on the show "Storage Wars." It was something out of Chapel Hill, not related to the TV show. Sorry bout that...but the items are real...see the auction house

Looking at the transcript it doesn't look like it anything to write home about LOL. Special Topics, Special Studies, Special Projects...
  • I wonder if Michael Jordan even cares. to us big deal to him , probably means nothing. He is filled with accolades and accomplishments. He could probably file a police report and get them back if he wanted to. If they were borrowed then they can be reported stolen. Im sure if he wants them back a deal will be struck .

He is a damn Icon, literally

It looks like a replacement transcript, it says it was printed in 1999. The Diploma looks 1999 as well.
  • Incidentally, I saw Dave Hester at Koby's Swap Meet today in San Diego today.
  • A replacement transcript? Makes sense. Was wondering why no grades.

Also, anyone can get their diploma duplicated. Any idea how to determine if it's the original diploma?

Oh yes, just like with Emmitt Smith, MJ pinkie swore to his mother that although he was leaving college early to go to the NBA, he would finish his degree during the offseason, and of course both MJ and Emmitt did. I'm sure others have as well.

I believe Isiah Thomas did that, too.

MJ graduated in 1986 so he didn't wait long.

While the transcript is clearly a re-order, and the diploma may be a re-order, there is no reasonable argument that the recruiting letters are copies.
