To see what they had for coins and such.
They had a roll of ASE's and were selling them @ $27 ea so I bought 7 dvd's for $1 ea instead.
But he did give me a lead on some Morgan/peace dollars for $17-18 ea. so all was not lost hopfully I can get there this weekend.

<< <i>Ever find any decent collector coins at the pawns? All I ever see is guitars, circular saws and diamond rings that have been thrown at the guys head. >>
Actually couple years ago at this same shop I bought 2 au morgans (raw) and a half dozen 90% halfs and an anacs au 58 21 peace dollar for $100.
Not long after that they started listing the coins they get on ebay only, but sometimes I get lucky and they sell me some.

Beats buying high and holding forever. Some of these people refer to themselves as stackers.
Knowledge is the enemy of fear

Pawn shops don't have to sell to make a profit.... It's a great business model.
<< <i>There's a pawn shop near me that I used to get nice deals from until some other guy took over the coin/bullion dept. When silver was at around $30 I checked them out and he wanted $38+ as he said that's what he paid so he will wait for it to go back up. LOL, that was quite some time ago. Stopped in a few months after that and I didn't notice an item missing. I guess it's now a museum.

Dropped of a prescription today and had an hour to kill and it was right near the above mentioned pawn shop. I decided to check out a few pawn shops while I was waiting. The one above had ASE's and Maples with a tag that said "Spot +5". So when the girl came over and asked to help me I said, "So these are 5 over?". she then said yes, but our spot is a minimum of $30. LOL. Bye.
Next pawn shop had 9 misc. dated ASE's priced at $75 each...
Checked the last one and nabbed 12 Morgan & Peace dollars at $20 each and 3 ASE's at $23 each out the door.
I won't bother stopping at the first two again as it appears they will never get it or are waiting for a sucker.
