    Technically, the year 2000 was the last year of the 20th century, but I do agree that the LOC commem was a splendid coin...

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Interesting thread. A good friend just recently gave me the USMC Business Strike and Proof and I photographed them just two days ago. I believe they are pretty darn cool. image I would have to do some serious thinking to come up with my top 5 or whatever but I think the UHR would be an easy #1. I like the Buffalo Gold as well. Hmmmm, I will have to think about this one and come back.

    That would be my list too but I might sub the 1st Rev Proof ASE for #2 and would put the fractional Buffs as honorable mention

    The UHR. I like the Lincoln Chronicles as a distant second. Nothing after that.

    I always thought the Buffalo commemorative dollar was cool, but the UHR double eagle was the coolest, no contest. image
