I'm almost sure football is a team sport.

    Just checked. It still is.

Romo needs a fresh start somewhere else for sure…………………MJ

IS Dizzy Bryant as good a receiver as Micheal Erven?

I wonder if this guy realizes sports networks like NFL network and ESPN root for collapses like this as it's a better story than a landslide win? It's easier to sell the story of a QB throwing a INT late because that grabs headlines; a defense so porous Matt Flynn can throw for 400 yards against them and lead 3 80 yard TD drives in the second half isn't nearly as sexy a story.

The fact that an obviously older guy like dimeman hasn't figured out the sports networks root for stories and not for teams, as well as his intellectual laziness when it comes to team facts and player names is pretty damning.

McGowen has played very well, but he's no Drew Breeze.

For the sake of DIMEMAN, Neither McGowen or Breeze will ever be as exciting as Farve or Stawback were.

Geez, turn on a football game once in a while and you;;ll accidentally learn how to spell someone's name.

Being a Redskins fan ... I'm just happy Romo and "the Boys" are taking some of the media attention away from my drama filled team. It will be fun to see which one of our dysfunctional teams screws up more next week. It's shaping up to be the game of the year. What's the NFL record for most turnovers in one game?

What a dysfunctional mess. I kinda feel sorry for them. I imagine either the QB or coach will be gone next year. I can see Jerry Jones wanting to keep ROMO just because he won't admit it was a mistake to make him the centerpiece of the team.

That whole division seems to be dysfunctional this year.

If one INT wasn't overturned, then Tony Romo could have had 3 interceptions in the last 5 minutes of a football game where his team was leading. That is just incredible.

Then he admits screwing up on Garrett. It's a lose-lose scenario and typically when the owner fires his GM.

So I guess I misspelled his name........JUST SHOOT ME!

What is it with some of you out here and the "SPELLING THING"!!!!!!

Get a life!!!!! Did I spell that right???!!! >>

Dimeman, in other threads, when you call other people stupid or morons, people of whom are FAR smarter and more wise than you, you had better be able to spell at least some sports names correctly image

Calling Grote those names is completely uncalled for. He should be calling you out for not spelling those names correctly.

Either apologize for your actions, or live with the fact that you either are indeed dumb, or are lying about your level of 'following' football as closely as you say you do...because one of those(dumb or lying) has to be true if you can't spell the names of players you claim to have followed so closely and for so long.

It's not just the press....it's coaches, players, former coaches, former players....they all are aware of Romo's problem. I hope Jerry cleans house starting with Tony the Terrible!!!

Difference being (and I'm passing on the SP errors), Staubach and White wouldn't have audibled a pass.

  • My only comment on this, not engaging Dimeman in a debate that he won't understand.

The pick that was intended for Miles was all on Romo. If he throws it a foot in front of him instead of a foot behind him, it's a TD and game over. The pass intended for Beasley that turned into an INT thanks to a miraculous defensive play, was all on Beasley. Romo threw it to where Beasley was supposed to be. If Beasley finishes his route, the ball hits him in the chest.

Stop trying to provide objective and realistic football analysis in this thread--we all know it's all Romo's fault and he now must be burned at the stake, preferrably on the midfield star.

Ok my last comment for real. I've been saying the same things about Stafford for years but no one ever seems to care. He did it again last night and no one noticed.

No, the real difference is neither of those QB's defenses would have (a) allowed a backup scrub like Flynn to throw for over 400 yards, or (b) allowed 3 80-yard TD drives in the second half. If the defense does their job ONCE in the second half Dallas wins in a rout.

I know that both Romo and the Cowboys' defense have plenty of naysayers, and rightfully so. And I also know that statistics only paint a small part of the picture. But this would be my sincere question to all Cowboys' fans --- if the game was on the line, would you feel more comfortable if Tony had the ball trailing the Redskins by 2, with 2 minutes to score or if the 'Skins had the ball trailing by 2 with 2 minutes to score?

I'll take my chances with Romo any day of the week over that disgraceful defense.

Ahem, someone has some manning up to do! Hey Edmund, ask your parents to borrow their phone, and give this gentleman a call. You need to stop with the ridiculous tone and call the gentleman, or just go away:

    << <i>Still waiting.....

    << <i>

    << <i>

<< <i>CBS Sports Poll - 2013...........90% of Native Americans say it's not offensive, and they even name their own schools Redskins !!!!!!!! >>

Please send me any phone number Edmund via PM as I am attending a Native Wellness Training in San Diego at the moment. You can view their website on the web. Anyhow, I am in one class of about sixty people right now and you can ask each person on their view of the term used in this survey or just call them the name on the phone to see the reaction you will get. I got the okay and our class of Natives are willing to talk to you tomorrow. I think you would be quite surprised if you truly believe the numbers above. Of course, these are a lot of educated Indians so you may simply dismiss it and chose to "survey" other Indians to come up with the numbers you cited above. I also have a theory on why some Natives may be okay with the term but that is for another post. Hope you can carve out a little time for us. My best. Rob >>

Fitz continues to ignore this very generous offer. Why? >>

I am waiting for the day that the defenders, the actual people, of native mascots decide to name one of their community little league or pop warner football teams after another race instead of Indians and honor them too because they deserve it. The honorers of racist mascots can dress up like them, portray the stereotypes of them to the nth degree and see the outrage that would come their way. Name your team with a non-racist term like Kings after MLK. In the mean time, be sure to dress up like him (black paint necessary if you are white), imitate his speeches to others, includes aspects of religion in here as many deeply spiritual experiences are basically ridiculed by others when in a sports context, and do nothing but honor the team and I am sure you will be making the news in no time. You could literally be on ABC, NBC, CBS all of them.....and I am sure you would be known as the town racist or bigot and people and/or businesses would want to distance themselves from you, to not be associated with you, and depending where you work fired or on ad min leave. Yet it is perfectly okay for mascots to happen to native people, why?

I say that Edmund should dress up as blackface for a Halloween party while his friends dress up as Indians and wonder why it is okay for his friends to not get the grief that he would get. America is pretty slow to acknowledge Native people like they have for other races......it is a mystery to me.

    lighteningboy:

You may be right in preferring Romo on the field trailing by 2 with 2 minutes to go over Washington trailing by 2 with 2 minutes to go.

Romo can play great at times and avoid making mistakes. However the 2013 Dallas defense appears to not be able to stop my grandmother.

However, if I was a Dallas fan, I would be in agony over either scenario playing out before my eyes.

SanctionII - I didn't say I would be breathing easy, I'm just saying that, by default, if nothing else, I would take my chances with Romo.
