I picked up a couple of newps....Nickel's!!!

crazyhounddogcrazyhounddog Posts: 14,068 ✭✭✭✭✭
I picked these two up recently and thought I would show em off a bit, what else can ya do with em?. Yes the 45-S has a rim nick at about 10:30 obverse. Other than that it's very nice and it rang a bell in my head and I bought it, I think it's quite pretty. The 1918 Buff is also pretty nice with a great strike, better than average luster, square rims and a clean problem free planchet. That's saying something for a 1918 as they were plagued with all kinds of problems such as lamination, streaking and other technical issues at the mint. Thanks for looking at my new nickel's and I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.....Joe

  • the 45 is crazy it looks like the building is on fire very cool (hot) amazing when enlarged. The 18 is fantastic a very nice strike.

The Jefferson is simply superb. I tend to think the rim nick is a mint made defect though it in no ways detracts from the coin.
    Great coin.

That color on the reverse of the war nickel is to die for. Great pick up, and to your credit, acknowledgement of the minor hit at the obverse rim. "Good Eye Award".
And who can resist a well struck Buffalo ? …and edited to add that I'm also seeing a couple of letters in our name in the "shoulder" of that buffalo.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

The Jefferson has a fantastic color pattern, very appealing, not taking anything away from the Buff, which is also a nice piece.

the Jefferson has the "Appalacian" look and I don't put much stock in them, and I don't think RickO's post was intended as liking the coin....'nuff said.
