unbelievable list of medals from the mint

The 2013 mint annual report says there will be 66. Apparently some will be minted in 2014.

I predict that this series will be a sales disaster for the mint.
    All glory is fleeting.
  • That is a BIG list.

I never realized there were that many tribes involved and I didn't know some of them started in WWI.

Successful BST deals with mustangt and jesbroken. Now EVERYTHING is for sale.

We always joked that "military intelligence" was an oxymoron, until I served with a couple Navajo & Crow soldiers. Language is fascinating. Great idea for medals, but the program will probably flop.

Buy now and wait seven months for it to be shipped to you?
    Interesting promotion

    Meh!

The US Mint doesn't usually charge your card until they are about ready to ship so the biggie here is to be sure that your card does not expire between now and when they do ship.

An interesting thing is that you cannot order one of each since it appears that the "shopping cart" is limited to only 19 items. A whole set would require multiple orders.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Well, not every tribe but only those that participated in this program.

I can think of the Iroquois, the Huron, and the Mohican tribes which no longer exists due to "Westward Expansion".

Could be a sales disaster for the mint, but could translate to some serious rarities for modern mint medal collectors.
I expect that this group will be available for many years.

Do they even publish mintage figures for medals?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • It would be nice if they sold them as a complete set in a nice presentation folder/box, etc.
