Has this website slowed or is it just me?

rec78rec78 Posts: 5,893 ✭✭✭✭✭
Hi, The past few days it seems to take a very long time for the pages and threads to load. Is anyone else having this problem? No other website that I go to has slowed. For instance- it may take up to a minute for a thread to appear. Is this happening to you?

Thanks, Bob

Same here. Also at times the initial post of a thread is 2-3 posts down the line.

Same here - I guess I'm glad to see I'm not the only having the same problems so I guess it's not my computer but something with the PCGS web site.

If PCGS doesn't update or find a fix for the board problem I see that they are going to shed viewers. The whole thing is getting a bit old.

Has anyone messaged Don Willis? Someone needs to bring the problem to the attention of PCGS.

Yep, if it stays this way you can stick a fork in it....they may have found an easy way to get rid of us all image
Funny thing is, if this forum went bye bye I could see my interest in collecting dropping off quite a bit as well...not a big problem, as there are many other
areas of my life that would appreciate the time and money I spend on coins, but it is a hobby that needs some sort of outlet for show and tell and outside of
a couple of friends who collect casually, no other way to touch base with fellow collectors appeals much to me.
The local coin club meetings make me want to run....and I'll never be one to travel great distances to attend shows.

The servers have gone back on dial up. They should be fixed by Monday.

Yes its slow. There are many times when I use prices realized that it runs really slow as well (sometimes it takes minutes to view a page).
Definitely not cool when people are paying for a product that doesn't work well.
may the fonz be with you...always...

This thread should only grow slowly, since responding takes an eternity in 2013 elapsed time. No telling what sort order the thread will be in either.

I can understand this long time slowness in 2001, but in 2013? Hopefully the next upgrade will put these issues to rest.

The fact is that slower is better than not having the forum at all

I didn't realize how lucky I am. I can switch from page to page in less than 20 seconds. That was horrifying slow at first.

Speaking of technology, last night I got an unsolicited e-mail from GM-OnStar notifying me that my left side tires needed a little more air.

^^^This^^^ Yesterday at times Coinfacts was not working at all for me. I was in the process of buying some things and wanted to use it for pricing history. It is upsetting when you pay for something that doesn't work or is so slow its useless.

The site has been slow since the brief outage yesterday.

The Google Chrome problem the site has needs to be fixed as well in case anyone is sending a message to anyone important. image

Well, a beer is in order...whilst I wait. Ummm, 63 seconds to open page, 58 seconds to open your thread..
And....and, 35 seconds to get here, for my reply. Yeah, I remember dial-up days, too. Were they this bad, tho?
I have the el cheapo AT&T service level, too.

    Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

I've been cleaning house while waiting for pages to load...it's working out great.
With the money I'll save by giving the house cleaner the week off, I can go buy something on ebay !
