Ya that's what i think as well. Nice coins but not worth sending in again don't get cought up in that with coins in this price range i send in once and let some one els try it if they want but not me..
+1 The Buff color looks odd to me but as I don’t collect the series it might be ok and I just haven’t seen enough of them to know. I don't really see anything that jumps out at me on the others, but if these were submitted together once the graders see a problem coin they are on high alert and more suspicious of the rest, or so I've heard.
The buffalo was Genuine graded due to corrosion. I still don't know where they are coming from.
The rest of the 3 were considered questionable color.
I have seen IH cents with similar color graded. I don't see the Questionable Color on the Wash/carver coins. I bought them this way and assumed they were stored similarly and exhibit NT color. I cracked them all out except the IHC of the PCGS Genuine slabs. The Buff is in my Dansco 7070 type set. The Wash/carvers are just sitting in an album.
I think they are all beautiful coins and deserve a true grade. Im growing tired of the AT stuff from PCGS. Some are blatant. I don't feel these coins fit the bill.
A question: Is there a way to remove the tone from the IHC safely? It is very high grade in that it has virtually no hits or marks. Its just too nice of a coin not to be graded.
Perhaps thay did not like the spot on the rump and under the chin thus the corrosion? Like you I have seen IHC's with that color but it seems to be a diceroll on grade or bag on any copper these days. Still do not see an issue with the commems.

The IHC reminds of "MS70" toning......I know a light application of Blue Ribbon will remove or mask over that bluish sheen (if that's what it is). I don't know if acetone would have any effect on it or not. If you don't have Blue Ribbon, perhaps virgin olive oil may do the trick. You may want to get more opinions, or try it for yourself on some cheap unc R&B Lincoln cents that have seen MS70 first. Frankly I think it is attractive the way it is; too bad they won't slab it.
Interesting that the 2 Carvers were sent in together, have the same coppery color base look, and just don't look right as far as color progression, especially in the same area of reverse.

98 on 3. I am on a small computer, but it looks like a wheel mark.
Edited: I like them all.

I guess I didn't look at it close enough. That does look like something is going wrong around the date. Thanks.
I still think its a perfect fit in my 7070 type set. Hopefully the corrosion has stopped. Wonder what could have caused it?
