In memory of Bear's passing one day late

Someone said that it appeared that a number of oldtimers were no longer posting on the Forum. While this may be true, it is part of renewal, as new people take over the comments and educational process. Rest assured, we old timers moniter the Forum and as needed we will jump in with our comments and opinions. I am overjoyed to see all the new Icons and people, welcome to all and may you get as much enjoyment from the Forum as we have. Regards Bear.

Read some posts about the forum's decline so thought this post by Bear 11 years ago in 2002 was fitting.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Passed away 2 years and a day ago. We all know he is walking at his leasure in the woods somewhere
occasionally finding something that makes his day.

I shared many PMs with Abe, about coins, Malibu, family, and life in general. He was a class act, one who often injected a sense of calm and gentle humor into the occasionally acrimonious Forum. I will not forget him, and I think that Coinsarefun deserves a shout-out for her assistance in getting images of and descriptions of his last purchases onto the Internet. I will be curious to see how well those coins do when they are sold. Regardless, hunting for coins provided him with particular solace during the final phase of his illness.
