When going to a small coin show.....

When going to a small to mid size coin show, let's say 50 to 60 tables, how important is it to get their early to get the best chance at the freshest best priced coins. Do you think by day two of a two day show that good-priced, nice coins will be harder to find?

But on the whole morning #1 usually has more opportunities.

New material usually disappears the first day, especially after a national or regional show.
Relationships with dealers is a big plus, they'll have a few newps stashed behind the table
In my experience on both sides of the table, prices don't change during the show unless a dealer is desperate. I can't tell you how many times I have been asked if can lower my prices near the end of the show - my answer has always been - No...

Bingo. Most of my major purchases are pre arranged with my go to dealer.
Patience is a virtue though.

<< <i>Early bird catches the worm!! I believe this to be true with coins also. No matter how small or large the show is. Happy hunting!!!! >>
Generally agree but at most coin shows the dealers cherry pick the best deals from each other well before the doors even open to the general public. They then mark up the price and put them in their display case.

imo. not important at all. the people that can't find something good are either very narrow or uncreative. never a coin show have i been to 10 dealers to 100 that there wasn't something good to buy. the only challenge, finding it/them.

It's not my nature to be assertive, which is what you needed to be to get to a table.
Too crowded.
I really enjoyed myself after it cleared out.
Was able to take my time and chat with sellers.

<< <i>Getting there early is good....but a trick I learned was to ask dealers about material of interest...often they have material they have not even put on the tables, and the stuff 'behind' the table may be just what you are looking for..... Cheers, RickO >>
Love to see in "those boxes of stuff"
