Jeff Nickel Collectors - Question on 1942-D

I've got 26 1942-D nickels and was checking them for the D/horizontal D variety. Didn't find any, but one was interesting. The D is slanted to the right about 15 degrees. Is this a known variety? Is it unique and worth millions? LOL

Haven't seen this before, but I wasn't looking either. I have a couple of '42Ds that I'll check.
    When in doubt, don't.

Thanks, guys. The interesting thing is that these were in a NYC Transit Authority coin bag, along with 460 war nickels and about 45 Buffs. My uncle worked for them and was a subway booth person in the 1960s. He knew his coins, such as it was at the time, and set aside scarce coins for a couple of dealers who would visit him after rush hour and buy them. He replaced their value with some of the proceeds. He left a large accumulation of silver halves, quarters, dimes and war nickels. All types and dates. My brother wound up selling them while I was out of state, allegedly to pay his tuition. I could have killed him.

    Cheers,

Clearly looks like something is under that D, like an old punch.

Armen and Bolivar, aren't yours the D over horizontal D? I don't remember seeing the D/horiz. D tilted like that. It looks like mine except with an underlying
    horizontal D. Interesting.

Have you considered the "D" is right and the Monticello building is tilted? image

It is the d/horizontal d variety. This PCGS MS64 example brought over 8k at auction back in 07.

Put a drop of acetone right on the 'D' and see if it falls off....I'm serious!

Tahoe & Bolivar: I'm hesitant to label it as the D over D variety. Maybe I'll put it on eBay with the large pic and a "you decide" what it is. Don't want to mislead anyone.

WoodenJeff: I'm out of acetone in my meth lab so I can't do that. image Seriously, I don't have any but may try to buy some.

If anyone's interested in it, I'll send it to you for examination and make an offer.
