The Gilfoil Copper is headed to the C4 Convention in Baltimore with Ray Williams.

I had a long talk with Ray a few weeks ago and he saw it in hand. Anyone who knows Ray Williams (past President C4) knows he is a leading voice in Colonials. With the coin, to the best of my abilities, a 4 page paper. So..... It should prove most interesting, and I will share his "report" at earliest moment. There ARE skeptics, I think with Ray at the helm, coin in hand, backed by some scientific evidence... Another step on the way toward attribution. ~~. Interestingly, C4 (with heavy pockets) has made available research grants up to $1500. This would certainly cover. Serious on site inspection of 17000 artifacts in storage at Peebles Island NY , including the farthing size token. Being backed by C4 it may be possible to get museum to lab testing arranged for metal analysis. ~~. I Hope you guys enjoy the quest!
. (PS if any forum members are so inclined I'm sure Ray would allow you a look. Tell him "the other Ray" sent you)

. Very True. XRF testing on my piece places it with copper from
Parys Mountain, primarily mined 1768-1800. Getting recovered barrel hoop fragments and that farthing sized piece tested are also a goal
A lot of us are pulling for you.
