Waverly looking real bad

God bless all of the buyers that recently purchased from Waverly82, looks like none of them received their cards.
Waverly82 recent feedback
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

For all of that drama to hit at once, on every transaction? My guess is, a serious health issue.
  • hope he is ok , my prayers go out to him. Seems like something sudden

this is what I hate about Ebay though, look at those piranhas leaving negative feedback like they lost more than 90 cents. Lol give the guy a break. he probably get banned from ebay for low dsr scores and high negative feedback.

This is the same guy that, for years, knowingly cracks out mid-grade PSA cards, doctors them, and then passes them off as raw gems to unsuspecting customers duping them into thinking they could score an 8 or 9 if submitted to PSA? F him and whatever 'issues' he may have. Karma's a "B"

I think there was a thread on here about experiences with this seller and results of sending his cards in to PSA. The discussion was not favorable.

I think everyone needs to calm down in regards to basically wishing bad on him. That being said.....he is a terrible member of the card community. I hope nothing is physically wrong with him.

I strongly recommend you put Waverly in the SC&MF search box and read those threads.

And that's all I have to say about that.

I also listed several dodger cards bought from him that all came back as altered or colored from PSA. I am going to have to see if i can dig up that thread.

    AHHH FOUND IT!!!!!

I was bashed in a earlier thread about ebay seller "waverly 82" after i made comments about his ooccasional overgrading... Apparently i was about 50% correct on the matter as all of these were purchased by me and just sent in. I did state however that the Deckles were the best i have ever seen. I was right.

I think Mickey71 has the right idea.

I bought a bunch of cards from Waverly in the past. Once the recoloring scandal hit, I checked my cards. All turned out fine (and later PSA graded) except a 71 Jenkins. You can see a little bleed from the marker. Still, I don't wish physical harm on the guy. Life's too short.

It's really strange how he operates. I bought from him a few times in the past. I got a fair amount of recolored cards that I had returned and a few that were cut short and rejected by PSA (too late to return to him). I also got a few nice 61s that were fine and graded 9. I guess he doesn't pull out the legit high grade cards but there are so many altered cards in his set breaks that there's no way to sort the gems from the trash.

Or he actually trimmed a few right and PSA missed them.

I don't think so. The cards look fine and he's not that good at trimming (or recoloring).

I never professed to be a nice guy image - in addition to his doctoring career...let me ask you, if you knew you were dying of cancer and could go at anytime; would you be auctioning off cards one at a time without any contingency plan to complete transactions in the case of an emergency? Just irresponsible at best; I believe the guy was scum and to be a church leader makes it doubly bad. I don't "wish" harm on anyone (except Obama) but like others have stated karma is a b* >>

I check myself all the time. I screw up like anyone else, but I have never intentionally and systematically tried to bring harm to others. This guy did. So in that way, I have no sympathy for his passing. None. Makes me a bad guy? I'm good with that. BTW - to get philosophical - death has relatively little meaning to me because I do believe in an afterlife and in heaven. So dying isn't such a big deal. I also believe God gave us judgment so we should use it.
As for Obama...that is a story too long and too sordid and wrong for a sportscard forum (sorry for even mentioning his name) - if I have to explain it; then it is not worth the effort

WOW ... to wish a guy death from Cancer ... pathetic.

Was he a scumbag for what he did to members of our community? YES. A total POS for selling doctored cards? YES. Do I wish he was arrested and thrown in jail for a while? YES. Do I wish he was fined TEN TIMES what he made off fellow card collectors for his dishonesty? HELL YEAH! But to wish he died from Cancer ... can't wish that on someone for stealing and being a fraud (a church official who steals from others).

Just because he was a Church official doesn't make him perfect he was a sinner just like me.
We will all stand in judgement one day for what we did and what we didn't do.. What have I done
    for the Lord today?

Mathew 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one
who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ' Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy
in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly,
' I never knew you. Away from you evildoers!'

    1. I have no sympathy for the fraud. None. His family, yes. His children, yes. Him, zero.
    2. Why are you guys judging me for judging someone else? Spend some time in the slums of India, or in Nigeria as I have and you'll know who to have sympathy for.
    3. I NEVER "wished' harm to him - I am just not sad that it came. If you view that as pathetic - I accept your viewpoint but don't twist my words.
    4. The only harm I wish Obama is impeachment but ain't happening so I am just glad he only has 2 more years - so cut the feigned indignation. But in the end, if America is dumb enough to vote him in twice then America deserves him.

I own a card from one of his auctions which may very well turn out to be a work of art, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone. The guy is someone's dad, someone's husband, someone's son. It's too bad.
