how does this pic look? this is a nikon D3000 with a triplet macro filter.

The image details (date and such) are a distraction and block part of the coin. You should be able to change that in the camera settings.
Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Place the coin on a white or black background. It currently looks blue.

Is the color correct? I think the crispness can be improved. Use the fields for focus.

If you don't have diffuse lighting, better to illuminate these from north of the coin. IMO, anyway.

The problem isn't your lighting (though that can always matter). It is your white balance and color. Fix these things with your editor.

i am getting better the 2 pics have different fields of focus the bottom one looks best to me. I used a very soft black cloth that is non reflective this time and some cool led lights iI found at the store.
