Probably would have been a 67+ but the strike in the center looks a tad on the weak side for a typical 67, esp. from a CC which usually have killer strikes.
Every coin in that submission is magnificent. I'd definitely resubmit this 1884-S. I'd buy all MS63 Morgans that look that good. From the TruView, that's at least a MS64 which would make it a $100k plus coin.

Frankly, the scuff on the neck kills it for me as a 67. Given the $15,000 price differential for the 697 PCGS MS66 examples that are out there, I'd much rather hunt for a PQ one of them that wows me for its grade.

I'm pretty sure that 84-S has been market net graded. It was cleaned, but not bad enough to BB. IMHO. The overall look is sufficient for a 63.

Not mine. Just saw it come through on the daily public submissions page. I wish it was mine!

I wonder where it came from?
It's clean as can be with a nice cheek.
<< <i>Great coin. The guy with the shovel at the Federal Reserve bank vault missed that one. (Anyone know what I'm referring to?) >>
I thought they did that at the mint, unless there were broken or rotted out bags from storage.
But an unimpeachably "A" coin I'd love to see in-hand.

When you click on the TruView to enlarge it, there is another picture that you can click over to. I wonder if this is a Secure Plus image?
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

I was surprised too.

+1 almost and even if the strike was fuller.
