    You're not the only one that plays this.. image Sure you can BUY low SNs on eBay but that defeats the point of the hunt.

    16007 for me. (a $1 bill. I only search $1 bills)

    A pal of mine asked if low serial numbers were worth anything 'cause he'd found a dollar will with the SN of 81.

    I found a $1 FRN last year with four leading zeroes, I think it was 00002804, but I threw it back. Last month I pulled another $1 FRN with serial number 55999222, but one of the kids nicked it for lunch money. image Over the summer I got the bill below in change while on vacation, it was a challenge keeping the kids from spending it too:

  • I should double check this, but I think I have a $10 note 00000019.

    edit: Checked it. It was 00000019

    not FRN , but interestingly enough it just was sent to my smart phone yesterday, with an inquiry as to value.

  • Twosides, did someone hit that note with a detector pen? Looks like it would have been an $800 or so note before that.

    NewEnglandNotes;

    Not certain what was done to the note. Nasty marker and a bit tattered, but I told the gal I would happily list it for her to prove it's "worth". She claimed it was worth $10K. I tried my best not to laugh on the phone.
  • Too bad, without that mark on the front it's a nice note, she probably hit it with a detector pen and ruined it.

    I've got a Five I found in circulation years and years ago, it's either 00050000 or 00005000, I forget, will have to find it and take a picture.

    Interesting article from today's local paper. I was going to post this in the currency forum, but it seems to work for this discussion.

    Star notes are quite common in circulation. Just yesterday I deposited some money into my checking account and noticed one of the $100s was a star note with two zeroes to begin the serial number. Well circulated, though, so not worth keeping, only noting. Lowest serial number I've found in circulation? I look off and on but I've only found one with three zeroes to begin the serial number. It was 0003xxxx something similar to the OPs.
