For those that have yet to open the 93 Finest, the refractor looks to still be out there as I didn't pull one. If by chance a Greg Maddux Refractor happens to miraculously appear, please PM me.

UPS delivered to Washington on Wednesday. Finally had a chance to open the box and everything is beautiful. From the rip I got:

2-75 mini wax packs
1-75 mini cello pack

1-84 Topps BB box
1-85 Topps BB box

and I added on:

3-86 Topps BB box
1-78/79 Topps Basketball Box

As usual everything is beautiful and the boxes look brand new. Thanks to Mark for setting this up and Steve for some great products. Mine will likely stay unopened for now. But I will post pictures when I get a chance the vintage BK box is especially sweet.

• OK so I finally got some time to grab some scans from the RIP. Here's the highlights:

First the one that almost caused me to pee my pants. Upon further look though there is a fingernail-like scratch that begins on his towel...

Two 83' Cello's had their just misses:

And one GEM. I'm thinking I can just put the down payment on the new pool with the proceeds from this one....no need to wait on that annual Christmas bonus now.

image

2 packs of 84 Donruss yielded on GEM HOF and one GEM common....they were in really nice shape so there should be more GEMS out there.

One box of 87 Donruss that was without a Maddux or a Bo. No biggies but Jose looks GEM and Larkin I think that BARELY missed (T/B).

This Young is pretty sharp....another one that just missed.

Thanks once again to Mark for all the work done here. This addict now has his "fix" covered for a short time.
I'm a big Nolan Ryan fan OK???!!!
• thanks for another great break Mark and Steve

busted my 75 wax, 75 cello, 84 donruss, 81 FB, 82 FB and 86 FB
the 75s were about 50% decent centering - unfortunately no HOFers except for Robinson but he was OC
the football were all decent centering but no big hits

The Younts, Bretts, Ryans, Mattinglys, Taylors and Montanas are still out there for this one!

Hey Everyone,

So I never got around to posting what I got from the LAST group rip, and while I didn't get anything out of the packs, I got this rack pack with this guy showing in the middle cell for my 85 topps rack pack!
image

For this group rip, I ordered an 81 topps football pack 84 topps football pack; an 85 topps football pack and an 86 topps football pack. I got this out of the 1984 pack!
image

And to let you all know that I keep SOME things unopened, a peek at my ever growing unopened collection, which I added a 89 upper deck box and an 87 donruss box. My dad and I have worked on this for the past year or so. I've really gained a passion for unopened from the 70's and 80's.

Thanks for letting me share the pics!

Just got back from vacation to rip my packs (and file the unopened boxes away).

The 1982 football was really pretty -- pulled 12-15 nicely centered cards out -- no real star power.

As far as the others -- out of 1983T I pulled a nicely centered Carlton and Rodgers AS. 85F and 84T FB had nothing worthwhile. The 84FB had lots of snow.

Oh, if you were holding your breath for the Abraham Nunez auto out of SP -- you can give up that pipe dream now.

<< <i>Mine arrived today. The 84 football cards are some of the best centered I have gotten in a while. I did get a nice looking John Elway but it was on the back of the pack so it is waxed. I also pulled a really nice looking 84 Donruss Wade Boggs. It is just a little off centered.

If it's on the front, you can use a silk stocking or a cotton sock to rub it off. Be careful not to dig into the surface with your finger nails while wiping it off. If the stain is on the reverse, you're SOL.

I got mine and finally ripped a '75 mini. The cards were mostly miscut and one has the edges of two other cards showing on the back. So three cards are in part represented. I ripped the '84 donruss and got some HOF players, but not the big gun in the set. I'm so focused on packs that I forget how nice that set is. Fun rip even without the big hit. The boxes are nice as well. I'll probably rip the '90 box sometime soon.
