For the few of people that got a 1975 mini cello pack, did anyone get a star or semi star on top pack? Did anyone get a pack where the card was centered decently on top?

I had a Torre on top of my cello that was fairly well centered. Most of the cards had a soft corner though. Now...the two 75 wax I ripped had some very good centering. No big hits, but I was pleasantly surprised by the centering. Will try to scan tomorrow.

It's just the scan unfortunately. Both the top and bottom right corners look soft in the scan, but actually are nice and sharp. Maybe it's the shadows giving the appearance? It's actually a very nice card, but a tad O/C top to bottom I think.

I've been thinking about slapping myself in the back of the head for about the last 12 hours straight now. My package arrived yesterday and I ripped her open last night. As I was getting ready to open an 83' Topps Cello my phone rang. It was my mother thanking me for her birthday gift, and as expected mom just went on and on and on about things. While I was still trying to pretend I was listening I decided to multitask and rip the Cello. In my haste and only giving it half of my attention cost me. As I got through the pack to the last card I find a Sandberg. Brilliant! Sandberg was on the back and I missed it! And of course, she sure isn't a gem.....
Overall though I can't complain about what i opened. I spent about 1/7 of what I did on the last rip and I honestly think I got better cards this time around. Go figure!
Will attempt to post some scans tonight. Thanks to Mark for doing this again....it was fun even though I had a bonehead moment.
My package arrived today. The boxes look great. I took a quick look at the packs to find my Mini pack. Gary Thomasson on top. I flip it over and instantly see the first name George (I can't see the last name) and I start getting excited. Unfortunately, there are 8 years of stats on there.... oh well..... then.... hang on a second..... that's 8 years of Mets and the stat sheet is full..... yup, George Thomas Seaver #370. (Sorry for the crummy cell phone picture)
From one of my previous posts I said that "When not from a sealed case, I always go with the assumption that the box has been searched through. That way, I'll be pleasantly surprised if I get something nice." Here's more proof that Steve doesn't pick through boxes.
Paid last Monday and still nothing yet. The wait continues.

Nice pack, Doug! PM me if you are looking to make a quick profit on it!
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Not any big hits. A few HOF'ers in the basketball, but nothing gradeable. '79 Football was a bust...got a Bradshaw that looked like a 9, but there is a ding on the right edge. The '75 mini wax was nice though...wish I could have had a big hit as the centering was decent:
Some nice cards, Don! If you grade the Alex Johnson in PSA 9, plmk!

I received my package today. Here are the photos so far..
I purchased a box of 1990 Topps, 2 1986 Topps, and a 1987 Donruss. I also ordered 2 1985 topps rack packs (one with 2 gary carter's on top) and a 1985 topps grocery rack pack which was Steves last one and it had Dwight Gooden rookie on top. Also is 2 1985 fleer cello packs. No stars on either of them. A 1984 topps FB cello, 1984 topps wax FB, and a 1981 topps wax.
Opened my package today. I had a 85 topps baseball box that looked great and a 75 mini pack. Really excited about the pack being an Orioles fan and a Boog Powell fan (#469 Tom Dettore on back).
Packs arrived today. Not much in the 3 packs I opened. (2) 81 FB packs best card was a nice Dorsett. 84 FB pack not much best card was a nice Franco Harris. Thanks to Mark & BBCE.
Got mine Monday. I keep joining 1975 mini breaks and getting horribly o/c cards. Will probably open tomorrow but really looking for some scans from somebody that opened first.
Like last time, there seem to have been two very different mini boxes. The pack I opened did not have one card centered well enough to grade, which happens on minis. It just sucks in the sense that this is the second straight rip where good packs were opened, leading to me and others ripping theirs, to find pure junk. My ID may be Miniduff, but I have opened my last mini wax from one of these breaks.
The 90 topps box was loose as others have said and was not in great shape. warped, gum damage. Couldnt care less on a $9 box, which I ripped for fun, but it put the junk in junk wax. The 79 baseketball was sharp, but horribly centered. The 83 topps football was completely ruined, so warped and bent I threw the cards out, so if you have 83 wax football, do NOT open it. The 85 football was nice, one of my favorite rips and two cards going to psa there. The 82 fb rack yielded 3 or 4 10 possibilities, so very happy there.
Fun rip as always and thanks for putting it together.
My 4 packs of '84 FB wax yielded some nice cards and some rookie star power. Overall the cards were fairly well centered for '84 wax. There might be a few submitable cards in the bunch.

Wow, beautiful centering. I'm wondering if you might snag a 10 on that if you get it graded.
I have always loved that card - took my kids to a game at Camden Yards this year and they got to meet Boog at his BBQ stand. As everyone who lives here knows, Boog is a Charm City icon.
Mine arrived today. The 84 football cards are some of the best centered I have gotten in a while. I did get a nice looking John Elway but it was on the back of the pack so it is waxed. I also pulled a really nice looking 84 Donruss Wade Boggs. It is just a little off centered. James
Haven't busted all mine yet but I must say that the 82 football racks have some of the cleanest and best centered cards you will find. I pulled 11 stars worth subbing including Munoz rookie, Montana, Lott IA, LT IA and a Walter Payton.
I am in Cali. I got tracking from Steve; mine is to arrive tomorrow. Almost all of the packs will remain sealed. Thanks again for putting this together!
While most of mine will remain sealed, I did open two packs of '84 Donruss. Nice centering. One pack was full of commons but the other pack had four HOFers. Ripken, R. Jackson, Molitor and Jenkins.

Couldn't resist. 2-75 minis. Not worth scanning, o/c Phil neikro was the best card. 82 football had a Taylor sticker that looks awesome. Might throw a pix later.

Mini Cello: Charlie Moore top 70/30. Jim Wohlford back. And what looks like a Royal at the flip. Hmmmm.
My 84FB cello had a nicely centered Dolphin on top but not the one I was hoping for.
All boxes very clean.
Thanks Mark and BBCE.

I haven't opened anything yet but since I usually need some sort of a fix, first I open any packs with the gum broken, if any.
<< <i>Mine just arrived!! Photos to come!! Not sure whether to open or not....oh the options!!! >>
This is a group purchase and not a group break if no one opens them.

Still have not decided to open or close....

awesome packs so far...
hoping to get mine this week.
My 75 mini packs looks super crisp and sharp, but they are staying unopened.

yes, I asked him if they were, and he said it is cost prohibitive to do it on those boxes.
Incidentally, my pack of 1984 topps football has a Darryll Green rookie on the bottom, I just noticed.
Thanks,
