CNMI $20 St. Gaudens Copy w/o the "COPY" Stamp

I bought 5 of these things before the feds jumped down NCM's throat for producing
"Legal Tender" currency (coins) without authority. That's when NCM was forced to
stamp "COPY" on the back of them. They weren't the silver base gold plated, just a
base metal and gold plated. Even so, I believe a very limited number of these were sold.
The COA that came with each has long since been "misplaced".

It will be on eBay starting this evening @ around 7 P.M. PST. id is david4988 if anyone
is interested. My last one and it has to go.

This link
is from my post across the street back in 2004 if you want to see one now.

Thank you.

in the link you ask the question

    >>Would I be able to go to my local grocery store and use it to pay for items? Don't know but might be interesting to try just to see their reactions!>>

Unfortunately, Ebay no longer allows the sale of copy/replica coins. Period. Your auction will be
nuked most likely. Even if it said copy Ebay would not allow it on their site.

    Bob,

It is up and running since yesterday evening. This (4th post down) tells how it got there.

    Bob,

You were right. They pulled the listing. As you say, they are stating this is a "Replica" or "Reproduction"
and I'm arguing that it isn't. I'm waiting for a call back from a eBay supervisor to discuss this.

My point of view is that yes, it uses the familiar design of the famous $20 double eagle but on the reverse of this
"coin" in the half-sun, is the design of CNMI's flag, clearly indicating this is not the real thing...same purpose
that stamping COPY on it does.
I'm also listing it in the appropriate categories: US Coin>Exonumia>Novelty and US Coins>Fantasy Issue.
Is this or is this not what it is?
Back in Feb this year, I sold another one of these with no problem. Same categories. Did they change their
    rules since then?
In my description, I give a link to a 2004 post I made ATS with pics of the coin and COA with comments/questions
from other posters. The COA clearly states "Legal Tender" tho we all know it isn't and this is discussed also.
If using the word COPY in the heading and/or in the description is the problem, then why did the other one sell?
And I need to state this is one of those without the COPY stamp to differentiate it from the ones that
do...else why would anyone be interested in one?
I also state this is a gold plated base metal coin in my description, not solid gold.

Anyway, I'm doing my damnedest to follow their own guidelines, and clearly making every attempt to keep any
interested party from thinking this is a real $20 gold piece (for $40???). If I were asking $2,000 or $2M for it,
I would definitely be guilty of attempted fraud. How is trying to sell a novelty/fantasy coin with my
total and full disclosure breaking any rule(s)? Just what am I missing here? Anyone have any constructive POVs?

eBay implemented the change earlier this year... I believe it was around May or June.

REPLICA, COPY, MINI etc coin are not allowed. Not so sure if that is applicable to U.K. sellers, who appear to be 90% of the sellers for this type of junk.

    okiedude,

Yea, I will do just that if I can't figure out a way to work within eBays guidelines
    for this coin.

To anyone still following this OP.

Working with a Trust & Safety Dept gentleman, I was able to find out exactly what
I needed to do and what I couldn't do to list this coin.

It will be back up this Sunday @ 6 PM PST for a 7 day run.

    Item number is 331051128558

You might want to look into how the sellers get away with the henning nickels, technically those are counterfeits and they are let go

Thank you for the suggestion Coinflip but I don't even want to try to circumvent eBays
    rules/regs.

My post just above yours has the new listing number and I'm assured by Trust & Safety Dept
that it will not be pulled because I have given (in the description for the listing) as much back
history as I have available to me and I have not used the word "COPY" what-so-ever.

I'm even waiting for a reply from CNMI's governors office to see if they can give me a approximate
number of these commemorative coins that were given out to vets and dignitaries back in 2004.
If I get a number, I will include it in my listing as well.
