TahoeDale reported in another thread -- "Don Willis said that PCGS will have some announcements after the first of the year concerning the Forum, to try to improve its use and contents."

PCGS Registries
Box of 20
SeaEagleCoins: 11/14/54-4/5/12. Miss you Larry!
I hope PCGS doesn't move to a new platform where everything is reset and we start from square one.

no way hozay!

I agree with this 100%... I posted frequently on another coin site and they changed the format and I rarely post there anymore. At first glance over here at CU, it looked old-school. But as stated, it works well and it's consistent...just like its host.

I agree! I R so tired of microsoft and all the others constantly changing things to make a buck!
It may be slightly dated but this forum has a clean look to it and gets the job done.

Cointalk? I happen to like the upgrade there.
learned my way around here and it took years!

Yes. Good folks over there but since the sharks over here have not stabbed the blood out of me yet...I like it here much more. I also just cracked open a 5th of Don Julio Anejo and it's Friday so I suppose I may be in a good mood as I write these words

It is broke! Search doesn't work, for example.
We had some great discussions and some strange, I mean great people on it!
Hoard the keys.
I also believe there is a WEALTH of knowledge here that I fear may be lost if these forums were to be scrapped with something new (ie...starting from scratch).
Too, while the # of posts ultimately means nothing, it can help to show, in BST transactions with unknown parties, that someone is completely new, or that someone has been around for awhile. That can make it easier to look for past transactions, references, etc. Not a perfect solution to any transaction, but another tool to help in transactions.
I would hope that those things would be taken into account.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
I'm always looking up something here from the past. The search still works for me.
I vote no changes. I wish I could still get to the old CU forum post.
The fly-in forum changed and it looks like all the old post are gone.
That makes me really sad.
Same thing my daughters gave me
I'm probably due for a banning.

Yeah...look what happened by removing the OF.

...this.
you should really upgrade from Windows 98 already!!
<< <i>I find older is often simpler and simpler means my computer runs better. We shall see.

I will admit that I am on XP. Much better than 98. But I did use the term "often" instead of "always".
Nobody posts in the Registry forum anymore. And some sort of open forum rebirth would be great.
Just hope they don't dilute this place into many sub categories. I appreciate every US coin related post
being in one place even if it's something I'm not interested in. I often find my interest expanded by
being exposed to those posts.
If only they could open up a portal to the old forum Scotteo thread.

Whatever the change, it would be nice if the old threads remained as they contain a lot of good information and discussion.

Right. We communicate just fine in this format. I don't faster, bigger, or even better.

I usually have no problem using the search function to find old threads....assuming you can remember key words in the title/body. You do have to be pretty selective and accurate though in choosing your search words.

Sure it does, works for me just fine. I use google chrome.

<< <i>It might be nice to be able to post photos directly. >>
This is something I totally agree with! After a hiatus of several years, I come back
and spent over 2 hours trying to participate in in a post only to find out that I have
to have a "photo service" (i.e. Photobucket, or other) to post pics! Used to be I could
download from my computer.
Many times, I've had the opportunity to add to a post with a pictured coin but had to
forego posting because of this change. It leaves out some of the people who simply
cannot afford to pay for a photo hosting site.
Why was it done anyway???

...yeah but photobucket is free!
Now the bullion and modern stuff needs to go!

Besides, what could possibly be "improved" that doesn't muck everything up?
CoinTalk changed their format and as it is, I just do not have the inclination to go explore everything as what was once obvious is now buried under useless clicks.
Their picture sharing program was great until things got changed. Now, all the photo's I uploaded over the hears appear to be gone which now requires me to upload everything I want to share or reference from past subject matters or posts.
I really, really, hope that part of these "improvements" aren't FaceBook, Twitter and Google interfaces as I really have no use for Twitter and my Facebook is only used for gaming and casual social interaction. Google........well, google is under fire for all the information they are sharing anyway so that wouldn't work. I don't think most of the folks would appreciate that anyway since they are extremely private.

duz too werk.
<< <i>I prefer this forum and the style of it over the NGC forums. Sure, there could be some "improvements" going with something more modern, but the user interface here is pretty darn easy to learn and I believe generates a lot of action that is missing from the NGC boards because of that.

As far as NGC/ATS I do like the feature of being able to edit PMs and delete posts.
