Bellagio, Las Vegas, today....
Had time to drop off some Morgans for grading. And, luckily it was just before the noon feeding!
Back to that in a minute...
Linda and I said hello to Mr. Willis (he found us) and had a great chat about PCGS in Asia. Interesting
to say the least!
Looked at some inventory, and was on the hunt for a 1890-cc tailbar but came up empty. Don Rinkor
said that he'd just sold a DMPL earlier,,,,,,not that I could have afforded that! Didn't even as the grade
as if it's a Dimple it too pricey for my blood.
Show was bigger than usual with more dealers and tables. Probably 50 or so tables? All were being
manned with only one or two exceptions. Seems almost all were doing some business or on the phone
with clients, etc.
If you have not attended a Dealers Only show (must be at least a Collector's Club Member) then you
are missing out. No John Q Public to trip over! Just one on one with some very nice inventories!
Now, for lunch (as I know you all want to know what it was):
Fried chicken on waffles with maple syrup.
Mac and Cheese that was out of this world and with cheeses I've never even heard of!
Mini burgers (sliders?) or such with bacon and cheese and such.....
Ribs in BBQ sauce
German potato salad (cold)
Baked beans (hot and the biggest beans I've ever seen)
etc
Deserts that I tried were Key Lime pie, Pecan pie,
Linda had some kind of fruit crunch that was warm and yummy
Several other dishes both for lunch and desert that I did not have room to even try!
Sorry, no show pics but I'm sure you've been to shows and know what they look like.
Bellagio registration desk has about a 20x50' ceiling covered in Chahully glass and drop dead gorgeous.
Atrium was decorated for the fall harvest themes with pumpkins, etc (some 500 and 600 pounders!)
Shops, casino, pool areas were all busy. Nice day with plenty of sun bathers!
Nice morning and early afternoon.
Thanks David and Don!

sounds like heaven.
i appreciate a lot of people looking to learn since that is part of how i did it but a break from it with only serious people on the floor would be a big welcome change from time-to-time!!
.
Sounds like a great show, it's just too far from Naples, Florida.
We went out last Thanksgiving to see Bocelli and stayed at the
MGG Grand for a week. I was hoping a PCGS show was there, but
we were a month early !
One of these days I'd like to make that coin show.

Are you sure there are no pics with this report???
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

Suggest adding some German red cabbage to the above.
If people eat that stuff for any length of time, you'll see a few more 500 and 600 pounders.
Several comments were made re no John Q Public to trip over and only serious people on the floor. As I have never attended a show like this, I have a question. Does this mean I won't be offered all kinds of low end for the grade material at ridiculous prices at a show of this sort? As a matter of first impression, I don't think would change, but inquiring minds want to know.

My focus is Morgan dollars, especially CC dollars. So, I don't look at much of the other stuff. Dollars were priced as you would expect.
I think that you ought to take in a show when you can get cheap flights/hotel. If you do a regular search for good deals on flights, etc
I think you will love to be in Vegas for a few days/nights.
Allegiant Air is based in Vegas and might be a choice for a cheap flight/hotel package. I fly them and it's like packing sheep in a plane but
the price is certainly worth the inconvenience. They fly from smaller airports (not the big ones). So, many times you just drive to the
suburbs to catch the flight.
Don't own stock in the company!

<< <i>YOu should have gone for the DMPL tailbar. I looked atit a couple times as a DMPL tailbar is on my dream list. >>
It was already sold and I never even got to see it.....
