I wonder which grey haired gentleman at PCGS dropped a hair on my coin! image

    Looks like lint and might very well have been on the large cent when submitted from when it was stored in cotton.

    The only way to know for sure is to have your TrueView DNA tested.

  • I have this on a morgan I got graded recently. I believe it is a fiber of some sort from the new PCGS inserts. I thin it comes from how they are cut.

    Definitely not a big deal. I only spotted it with a max sized jpg.

    Aren't all trueview's slabbed? Its a 1793 Wreath Cent in VG10

    Aren't all trueview's slabbed? Its a 1793 Wreath Cent in VG10 >>



    The TrueView pic is taken while the coin is raw before slabbing. He's asking if the hair/fiber is on the coin in the slab, because it could have fallen off before the coin was slabbed.

    From what I can see of the coin, I will guess VF 20 even with that big chunk out of the rim.

    My apologies. Yes it is in the slab too, slightly moved. But, again it is microscopic and not an issue. Just thought it was funny.
  • It could be an extraterrestrial space worm trying to set up a homestead on the surface of the coin from which it can then take over the world. HAhAHa LOL. sorry couldnt help it
