1972 Lincoln cent DDO Error help?

these confuse me to no end. I just found it in one of the rolls I am going through. Die state and # it looks like an early die as the rim cud is just beginning to form on the left side of the coin. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

and I'm not sure about anyone caring much on a die state for a coin this worn and cruddy. The overall wear and crud -- maybe, maybe no on corrosion since is hard to tell from those photos -- are much more of a factor here even if this was the first coin off new dies.

Why not centered, or on L.
They don't have anything to do with die state.
It's a bit of metal squirting up between the die and collar during the strike, and die state is irrelevant.
Lets me first say that it is either Die #4 or Die #7. The reason being they are the only Clockwise doubling. If its a Die #7, it will have a die dot between the Lincoln's Lips. Regardless of early publications, Die #4 does NOT have rim cuds on early Die State examples., However, the best way for me to tell a Die #4, is that there is a die gouge that runs under the 2 in the date down to the Rim. So a better close up of the 2 and including the area south of the 2 would help.

Photobucket changed recently and they "smartly" figured they'd also include a link to the picture, too.
That link stuff they provide does not work here.
Delete everything with the [URL part
Only the [IMG part is needed and works here.

Under your user name is a drop down menu.
Click User Settings.
Click Albums.
Be sure IMG code and Easy linking mode are checked.
Click save.
This should make the IMG code show in your albums.
Copy this code and past it in the body of your reply on the left side.
The image should show in the post.
