New addition

Picked this up the other day. Not a high dollar set but the coins are all gems and the 56 Washington is a ddr. Hard to see the details in the plastic but not sure if I should cut it out or not. I have to swap out the 1964 for a 1963. Not sure why he set it up that way. No. Doesn't have the 1961 ddr franklin or the 1956 type 1 franklin but the quarter makes up for it in my book.

  • Thanks. Hearing that from the pros makes a newbie feel like he's on the right track. ha ha.

  • I can honestly say (and oh how I hate to admit this in this forum) I've been taken twice and it was when I first got in to this. One was a "unsearched roll" of wheats and the other was an "unsearched roll" of Kennedys. At this point, I've pretty much stuck to proof sets and slabbed coins that I could verify and also balance it all out with silver bullion. All in all, I wish I would have started this much sooner in life but glad to be able to do it now. image

    Hoard the keys.
  • That is kinda cool.
  • I actually found it on craigslist. ha ha. It was on there for weeks and the seller lived about 60 miles away from me so I didn't look at it too seriously. I contacted him one day and told him if he was going to be heading to Reno soon, I would meet up with him and take it. He had plans a couple days later to head this way so we met up. One thing I like about it is the Whitmans book it's in. Was printed in 1960 so it's period to the coins. What board is the other one on?

    Reno, huh?
  • You say that like it's a bad thing. Ha ha. Yeah, Reno....Don't much care for it but at this point in my life it's where I need to be.

  • Is this board something you can view online or do you have to go there? I've looked all over the internet and I found them but no links to the board. ha ha.

You can call them and they will send you a list and you tell them what you want them to bid on if that helps. image

  • Great and thanks. Will check in to it tomorrow. image
