ORANGE Proof Coins???? Whats going on here??

Today I decided to open a sealed 1961 Proof Set and to my amazement the Quarter and Half are a vibrant Orange! What could have caused this? What would PCGS slab them as?

Those might bring a premium with the toning.

If you submit the coins, definitely do so with them still inside the OGP.

The set was probably stored in a hot and probably humid environment at some point. The yellow color is no turn-on so far as I am concerned; it is a reflection of improper storage.

I have seen that before on sets of that era. Usually rather ugly.

Is the packaging orange too? If not, maybe fix the white balance and show us again?

Fairly common to have toned proofs in vibrant colors from that era.

Orange toning on silver coins usually does not bring much of a premium, if any. I have seen orange-toned Proofs from the early 60's like the OP. They usually only show the orange in direct light, but have a milky haze when turning away from a light source.
