<< <i>Here's a coin that was my favorite in a group of OGH C- and D-Mint gold that a dealer friend handled about 10 years ago. The entire group sold out "onesie - twosie" at a memorable regional coin show, almost entirely to my Southern gold circle of friends. Acquaintances who arrived late were disappointed that they had missed out on the OGH mini-hoard. For the record, most pieces sold at prices well above the price guide for the certified grade. This coin is still in my collection and has never been viewed by the bean factory. The photo is courtesy of BluCC.
<< <i>I have never been a fan of the Rattler, from an aesthetics standpoint. I will occasionally buy coins in Rattlers, but I will always move them to more current holders. >>
I love finding properly graded coins in rattlers, as I store my collection in my SDB its the pictures of the coins that I see not the holders so what the holder looks like is not really relevant imo. Well thats not totaly true as I dislike the new edgeview holders that both TPG's are using, the ATS holders are worse but both interfere with getting clean pics.
Back to the op topic I think the replies to this thread show a general trend/thought; if you see OGH and rattlers in dealers cases then its more likely that the coins are C or D coins, the OGH's and rattlers in collectors hands have a better chance of being undergraded or top of the grade. Like others I have some old holder coins that I think could/would upgrade but until its time to sell I have no plans to change holders.

<< <i>Here's an OGH that hasn't yet appeared in this thread.......
