Wow. This can't be good

This is the scariest craigslist post i have seen in a long time. I am definitely not getting involved, but I hope someone can make this not happen.

The really stupid thing is that he is asking roughly .65 per for the labels. It has been thrown about time and again to have PSA buy back labels for .50. A small price to pay to protect your business and your field.

    Is this even legal?
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

I'm truly hoping PSA works with the police to put in a false buyer / sting officer and charge the guilty party rather than just having the advertisement taken down and end it there.

    Is it wrong? Absolutely.

But Dude owns the flips. They are his to do whatever he wants to. Pay attention to each card you buy and youll be fine.

    Why wouldn't it be?

    $1,000,000.00 he says.
I wonder if these are legit flips for that reason. Id guess they are remakes not PSa auth flips only as a guess. Not many Millioniare collectors that crack out Nm-Mt+ key vintage items? Only to sell the flips for a simple 1,000.00
I hope this is looked into.
People that counterfit $s ask .10-20 a dollar so this isnt a good thing saying he has 1 million dollars for only 1000.00 . Im thinking they are bogus flips but still this is a scary thing.

I am sure it is legal to sell. But, there is really only one reason anyone would want to buy it, especially for $1000. The illegality would be someone re-using them to misrepresent a card.
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,384 ✭✭✭✭✭
Another thing that makes me question if these are legit is the fact that he says the 1,500 labels are worth 1,000,000.00 in SMRs guide.
That gives the average of 666.00 per lable SMR value. Meaning 1500 key lables. I doubt this is legit. In my opinion. But the offer looks like a real offer for 995.00 for a product.

I agree that PSA should purchase these.

As dubious as it is, why wouldn't this sale be legal?
  • ClockworkAngelClockworkAngel Posts: 1,994 ✭✭✭
I doubt these are official PSA labels. I believe they are made up. That's way too many high dollar high end cards for people to just crack open for this purpose

They look legit. The seller probably took a hit in his "flipping" and is trying to recoup as much $ as possible. This listing should be no big deal if the slabs were impossible to reseal like BGS or BVG.
