Michigan is playing this weekend, so there's always a possibility for an upset. lol

Looks like Alabama will have their hands full this weekend. LOL! 'Bama is only favored by 55 over Georgia State. Unless they play only walk-ons I think that's money in the bank! Maybe 'Bama will score 100?

ASU v. ND should be a good game.

Don't take that bet...Saban was favored by 35 over Colorado State and final was 31-6...He uses these games to play freshman and third stringers. Probably 42-7 would be a better pick. Considering Alabama has played VT, TX A&M, and Ole Miss this will be a welcomed break. Also Bama has 5 SEC teams to play in the next 6 weeks.
  • Only two games left on alabama's schedule where they can lose. LSU and the sec championship game.

some interesting games in the Big Ten- Northwestern and OSU in Evanston and its homecoming in Lincoln- both games should be fun to watch

I have a feeling the Buckeyes will have a tough time this weekend. I hope not!
  • Again Bama doesn't even score the spread let alone cover it.

    You were right on.
  • So, the ND vs ASU game was the only upset this week.

If ND beating ASU was an upset, then we'd have to say Auburn beating Ole Miss was an upset too.

But Auburn and ND were both playing at home. It seems like this year more than ever it's tougher to win on the road.

ND ASU game was played on a neutral field(Texas).

I guess you're right about Auburn, although Ole miss is unranked in the coaches poll.
  • OK. Didn't know that.

I think next week's schedule has a lot more upset potential then this week.

I am sure a two loss UGA team will only fall to #12 or 13. LOL. No bias out there in the media.
  • How long has missouri been in the sec? Before today i didnt even know they were in the sec lol. Thats just not right.

I have always enjoyed Missouri-Nebraska games and they are no more... very sad and it is just plain wrong

Well for the real Big 8 purists out there... the Missouri-Kansas game is even bigger in terms of tradition and that is another rivalry impacted by greed.

    Very sad indeed

I generally channel surf watching several games but I did not touch the flicker from the end of regulation through the final overtime. Penn State was very impressive. It appears they will be solid at the QB position for several years.

Amazing game to be in the student section for! Best game experience I've ever been to. The crowd was crazy and the team looked great.

Why is Texas A&M ranked 7th? Their only "good" game of the year was a loss to Alabama. An exciting game no doubt but their schedule is light so far and they have given up a ton of points. I would say UCLA, Miami, and probably Baylor should be ahead of them. I realize it all shakes out eventually but the problem is when these no loss teams lose 1 they will fall further back. It just seems the undefeated teams who play in the BCS conferences should ahead of a one loss team who has played a nothing schedule.

Agreed. Most every sec team is overranked. Georgia should be unranked.
  • Go Noles!

Not expecting a win up in Clemson this weekend but think they have a solid shot. Can't believe Vegas made FSU the favorite though... that is one tough stadium to play in! A friend is roommates with a few of the O-lineman (Matias, Glauser, and another I'm blanking out on right now) and they said that place is just as tough to communicate in as the Swamp.

$C v. ND doesn't have much excitement to it this year.

I am excited for UCLA v. Stanford.

    What you looking forward to?
  • Watched #10 miami vs north carolina tonight. NC almost pulled off the big upset.

    Wisconsin-Illinois

Could be a close high scoring game or just a lop-sided blow out

    Thank you, John Madden...
  • I predict wisconsin will not lose another game this season.
  • coinkatcoinkat Posts: 23,111 ✭✭✭✭✭
Wisconsin is a good team. My Dave Madden analysis is two fold:

    The Illinois offense is unpredictable

Wisconsin will likely rush for over 350 yards. Wisconsin will score... score and score

Either the Illinois offense keeps up- which is within the realm of reasonable possibilities- and it is a close high scoring game.

And if they don't- Wisconsin blow out

  • Upset saturday.

LSU, UCLA, Georgia, Texas A@M, South Carolina, louisville, Washington, clemson....all lose.
  • If Mizzou, Oregon, and FSU win out, does an undefeated SEC champion get left out of the dance?

  • << <i>If Mizzou, Oregon, and FSU win out, does an undefeated SEC champion get left out of the dance? >>

Probably not. I would assume a win over alabama would put mizzou in the top 2. But i highly doubt mizzou goes undefeated.

Not a huge "upset" for UCLA to lose considering Stanford was favored by 6. They looked horrible in the loss though... at least the second half. Surprised they didn't fall further in the rankings. Must be the west coast bias. image

I am excited for Oregon v. UCLA. Ducks favored by 23. I'll root for the Bruins... at least until they are down by 21. End of first quarter or so!? image My wife is a Duck so we are going up for the game. I am going to try to find the guy with the Washington State flag in the ESPN game day crowd and get his story.

As an Oregon fan I was disappointed by the loss but Stanford dominated them. However, the last 10 minutes were awesome to watch. If that game had been one minute longer Oregon would have won. 3 touchdowns in about 8 minutes made it interesting. Looks like it's 'bama v. FSU unless one of them loses. If so, does Ohio State jump up? Baylor?

I dont see anyone beating FSU with their remaining schedule. If bama loses it will prolly be FSU vs OSU if of course OSU continues to win.

UCLA beats a decent U-dub team and FALLS one spot in the AP. How does that work!? They beat them pretty well, played an all around good game, and get jumped!?

College Football has been compromised with the tradition gutted in search of money fueled by greed. Computers seem to dictate which team should be ranked where and who is worthy of playing in what bowl game. Computers fail to see the tradition and which games matter. Its now all about numbers and margins of victory. In contrast, it should be about the unpredictable outcome based on traditional rivalries which has a sportsman/human component than does translate well into numbers.

What a pathetic mess- Its really tough to watch and listen to the what the game has now become

  • What a joke stanford is ranked in the top 10 after 2 losses to unranked teams. The pac 12 is overrated.

Stanford lost to Utah and USC. Neither are terrible teams. USC has been on a roll and is a very good football team. They only lost to Utah by 6 points. Utah has played some good games this year, beating BYU and Stanford. Utah lost by a small margin to Oregon St., UCLA, Arizona, and Arizona St. And they were in the game against Oregon for most of the game. Can't beat up on Stanford for that loss.

Stanford is one of the best teams in the country. They've beaten Wash., UCLA, Oregon St, and Oregon. Thats pretty impressive.

How is stanford one of the best teams in the country when they lost to 2 mediocre unranked teams? Sorry not impressive.

Stanford is a good debate. I think USC and Utah are both good teams. I watched UCLA v. Utah and Utah hung tight the whole game. USC has gotten considerably better as the season has progressed. Basically USC is a different team with Kiffin gone. The Pac 12 may be over rated, I don't know, but I would put Stanford up against anybody in the top 10 and expect a good game.

+1...I might watch a quarter here or there to catch a glimpse of a first round pick, but that is driven more by desire to get a jump on my fantasy football league than actual interest in the sport.

I don't think Utah or USC are mediocre. I think they are both better than you are giving them credit for. USC is a completely different team than 2 months ago and Utah is much better than their record indicates. Utah beat a team with my Heisman darkhorse for next year (Utah State) who was really good before the QB went down, they beat a decent BYU team at BYU, and all their losses were close and to bowl teams. I think you are discounting both SC and Utah. Stanford is a solid team. They dominated Oregon and Oregon is really good.
  • Utah and USC are good teams, but you can say the same thing about probably half the teams in the country.

I'll be at the UGA/Kentucky game. 2/2 on games attended and wins this year, so hopefully we'll go 3/3 while I'm there.
