my other seated halves dug

the left one is 1866, dug August 2001. the other is 1863, dug 12-6-97. they are ugly and as clean as they will ever be.

Thanks Demo! They may not be the prettiest, but they're still seated. Were these found in the water?

the 63 was from under a house. it was removed and the basement was all that was left. it was the only coin found. the 66 came from a dirt pile that came from an 1850's-60's saloon. some bottle diggers had an awesome pit dug, and I asked if I could search they're pile. both coins basically came from dumps and therefor sustained some harsh treatment. i'd rather have an ugly one than none at all.
I do have some friends that have found seated halves in near perfect condition. I guess i'm better at finding quantity than quality.

Nice halves.... well, not condition wise, but I agree, great to find. They would be keepers for me as well.... Cheers, RickO
