my other seated halves dug

the left one is 1866, dug August 2001. the other is 1863, dug 12-6-97. they are ugly and as clean as they will ever be.

    Thanks Demo! They may not be the prettiest, but they're still seated. Were these found in the water?
  • the 63 was from under a house. it was removed and the basement was all that was left. it was the only coin found. the 66 came from a dirt pile that came from an 1850's-60's saloon. some bottle diggers had an awesome pit dug, and I asked if I could search they're pile. both coins basically came from dumps and therefor sustained some harsh treatment. i'd rather have an ugly one than none at all.
    I do have some friends that have found seated halves in near perfect condition. I guess i'm better at finding quantity than quality.

    Nice halves.... well, not condition wise, but I agree, great to find. They would be keepers for me as well.... Cheers, RickO
