I'd like to know where I got all butt hurt as you said.....and why is it okay to disparage someone's collecting interests out of the blue? Just curious that's all. I'm sure that you have been railed for collecting Brian Winters items, I really do not see the point of it to be honest and that is why I find it interesting that you choose to do something that happens to you. It is if you have been bullied and think you need to find someone to raise himself on a pecking order..... I have been collecting wrestling cards for a long time and don't think I have to "defend" it whatsoever. If you take the time to look at my registry you will not see many cards of anyone you will see on TV today. That is not my interest.

I took my shot after you wrote "your son is friends with a thief?" comment. After I did it I thought about it and removed it. But of course dpeck couldn't leave it lay and had to add that he saw what I wrote. Looks like he was the one who wanted to keep it going in a negative direction after I removed it to not hurt any feelings.
To be honest I don't care what you collect or don't collect.

Playing the victim card after you troll and openly doubt the parenting skills of a respected member typically doesn't end well.

Sorry that happened, Neil, and I hope you find the cards.

I would think there would not be a history of doubting members parenting skills here, but I could be wrong, this forum goes in all sorts of directions. For me, Neil questioned his son's friends first in his original post (which turned out later to not be the case as the potential thief). In retrospect I should have followed up with at least another line of that is where he needs to go to find the answer to his problem (or to find his cards). A random theft would have someone to look all over ebay or craigslist, but a theft by one of your son's friends would lead me to my son and his friends. He did not say his course of action until later after I posted my comment when it came to his son's friends. For all it is worth I do not think the direction of the thread is where you are saying that it is. I should actually apologize to Neil for having the thread being derailed about wrestling cards and Brianwintersfan opinion of them.

$10 says video evidence will prove that a squirrel is responsible. Neil, you need to start blowing up neighboring trees. If you need explosives, there's this more than half-crazy West Virginian that could probably hook you up. image
  • stown, do you collect cards? I ask because I don't recall ever seeing you contribute anything related to cards.

I will speak for Stown, he has a great collection of 1955 Topps AA with some sweet looking 51 Bowmans as well.

Myself I got out of the cards awhile back but had a great collection of Vintage Football cards with a 60% complete 52 Bowman Large set going with 7+ GPA, glad I sold them when I did as I dont think the market for them is as strong as they used to be.

Ok Mo, lets here a bit about you aside from your one liners and code of silence on who you are. How bout this? Do you deal in cards or just collect? If so what? Or do you just post here and try to belittle people?
  • Thanks perkdog. It's great to hear that stown does collect cards.

With over 12 thousand posts on a card forum, it seemed odd that I've never seen him post about cards.

image Here's to hoping you find your stolen property. As for the rest of the unnecessary, irrelevant comments, I find it hard to believe how far south these message boards have gone in the last few years. That's probably why all the decent members of these boards haven't posted in a very, very long time - and a big reason why I come here so much less often than I once did. Good luck Neil.
  • Morning,

So interesting developement in the missing card saga. I hadn't given it any thought in weeks, this morrning I step out on my front deck to take the trash out and there is a City Market Triple wrapped little bundle sitting on my Porch right next to the snow! Unwrap it an lo & behold all 8 PSA graded cards are inside! Colder than he!! but OK! Must have been out there most of the night!

So do we have guilt?...Tried but couldn't get anybody to buy? Impulse grab then second thoughts? Don't know I guess alls well that ends well! Cards back home! I guess this one will be a real mystery!

Glad you got them back. Hopefully you're keeping the door locked or the cards secured nowadays.

    Hey there Neal.

Glad to hear of the happy ending.

My take? Impulse snatch and return - rationale for return? Not sure.

Glad to hear the good news Neil. I'm guessing someone that a member of your family knows and they wish they never took it in the first place. Whatever it is, glad to know they are back with the rightful owner.

<< <i>The person (Most likely one of my 16 year old son's friends) knocked on the door, pushed it open (It wasn't latched, I never do) and said :Hello!:, when they didn't get an answer, looked directly across the room and would have seen the stack of cards in front of the Computor screen in their direct line of site! They simply took 3-4 steps across the room picked up the single stack. If they would have even pulled out a drawer they could have had 1000's of dollars worth of cards, but fortunitly as a I said this was just opportunity knocks.

They made a mistake of pulling the door hard enough that when I came home with my groceries it was latched...something my son and I never do, its always locked but you have to literally slam it to get it to latch.

    >>

If you weren't home how do you know they first knocked on the door, then pushed it open to say hello etc? And why was pulling the door closed a mistake on their part? Were you not going to notice the cards were missing because they, you know, were missing?
  • Maybe the squirrel's Mom found them while she was making room to store food for the winter.
