Raw 59 Clemente Opinions

Hi All,

Below is a scan of the front and back of a 59 Clemente I picked up from my LCS. The card presents very well. However, having never subbed a card, I'm wondering if I'm looking at something less than EXMT condition. Here are a few issues:

1. There appears to be a bit of paper loss on the back, next to the cartoon.
2. There is a faint hairline crease on the front surface, just to the left of Clemente's face.
3. Slightly touched corners
4. Small print spot on the right border on front

Any opinions on condition is much appreciated. Thanks!!

  • Off the cuff, I am gonna say a 4. If it were not for the missing paper on the back I would have said 6. Still a nice looking card and well centered.

2 if you're lucky. Crease or wrinkle added to paper loss is just insult to injury.

I do wish you luck with it if you do sub it.

  • I think it's 2-3 based in paper loss and surface crease. Hope I'm wrong. An easy 7 otherwise. Good luck. Nice looking card either way.

    PSA 2.5

    DOn't bother subbing. Nice card!

Card presents real well. Back in the pre-TPG days, id agree that most people would say it was ex-mt. However, due to the paper loss (together with the slight crease), i'd say you are looking at a "TWO".

Bummer. I hesitated buying the card, but it looked so nice. It's amazing what the smallest bit of paper loss on the back has on the condition.

My thought wasn't to sub, but rather just see what condition it would be considered, based on the issues.

Thank you guys for your feedback!
  • I'm going also with a 2.5 - PSA 3 the most. Without the crease and the slight paper loss, I think you were looking at a 5.

    Very nice centering though.

I always thought paper loss was automatic 2 even if everything else was pretty nice.
  • Because of the paper loss, I believe you've got a very nice looking PSA 2.

As everyone else already mentioned, you're holding a 2/3 at best. Sharp looking card though image
