Happy Mariano Rivera Day Everyone!

  • My OP stands. I take issue with the jab about jeter or petite. Some day when a great player walks off the field at Fenway for the last time after impacting the game in a monumental way I will stand up and applaud and not reference slices of stats looking to make an unnecessary argument.

Rivera is the greatest closer of all time. This is a fact. When jeter retires he will be recognized as a great player for his accomplishments not for his power numbers.

Now if you will excuse me I need to comb through box scores and and add up five games where jeter's BA shows that he was a better hitter than Ted Williams.

  • Worthless online threats have me quivering in my shoes. I am so offended; I may never come on these boards again...........

Glad to hear that I have been put in my place and identified as a 'troll' as well as 'stirring up strife.'

I sure hope you don't run and tell my Mommy, she will be very mad at me.

But let's be clear - I never hijacked this thread.

Post all you want - I'm done with this thread...................Have a nice day - Sir.

Stop hitting me Mommy, that hurts…………….

    This is absolutely hysterical.

As far as Rivera goes, there's really nothing more that can be said about the guy. Class act all the way and the most dominant closer in history. However, he won't get 100% of the HoF vote, because there are dumb people allowed to vote for the hall of fame. If someone like Cal Ripken, or Rickey Henderson, or any of dozens of others who were sure fire hall of famers can't get 100%, then nobody will.
