Australia 2007 Lunar Pig - Help Needed

Today I picked up a $1 2007 Lunar 1 oz coin my local coin shop for $24.

Do these items garner a collector premium or are they just common bullion?

Lunar series always command a premium. One onzers in particular.
Some cool animals more than others!

Wow! Pig must be a cool animal...just checked eBay and found sales in the $90-100 range for the 1 oz!

Thanks for the info. Pigs seem to be low on the coolness scale. At least its not a rat.

Nice pick up - some shops treat collectible items as bullion - after all they are pure US Coin Numismatic places. I have one by me where I get a lot of premium items at close to spot. Although I am a long term acquisition / hold guy vs flipper - it is cool to get nice stuff at a discount. If I were you I would keep checking the bin at that B&M.

That's a nice score for spot+ a buck or 2. Is it in the original capsule or naked - dinged/etc?

It is in a plastic capsule and appears to have never been out of it, no dings.

My LCS is in a Town where new purchases are quarantined for 14 days pending inquiries from law enforcement. I walked into the shop on just the right morning when the Lunar and other items came out of quarantine.

Capsule should be original Perth I believe.

Check the mintage on that too. Some of them should be smaller and the older ones can have some nice steam behind them when you sell. I see no reason for you to be able to double your money on that at least. Surprised your shop let it go for that actually...and the RCM ones should fetch premium as well. Good score on the whole batch actually.
