Without even looking at the ball I can tell you with 99% confidence, pass.

A cursory look at ebay auctions of COA'd gear, I'd say there's some disparity, but I have to say if you have doubts, then your best bet is to back off. Also, what's the seller's motivation for letting it go at a really good price? Comparing this one to the ones I see on eBay, the '66' looks quite different here than in the COA'd ones. Without a COA from a reputable company, I'd stay away.

  • Pass. Not worth the headache.

"Real good price" is the first indication it's no good. Offering a signed ball of one of the hottest players in baseball at a discount is a sure sign it's no good.
  • Can you use the review process? No reason to sell this guys auto cheap right now.
Looking for Cello packs with Bill Buckner on top
  • Thanks for the opinions, let me add a little more information. The person selling the autograph is not in the business of selling autographs as there is no other autograph for sale or even purchased in their account history. The person told me that they got the autograph in August when the Dodgers played the Marlins.

The seller is a Cuban real estate agent in Miami. She offered my money back if it did not come back as authentic. BTW, she asked me what was PSA.

In the end, I went ahead with the purchase. I do appreciate all the comments and I'll let you all know how this turns out in the end.

Good luck man. Sometimes a real good price is worth a measured risk.

Is the possibility that he may have been liquored up considered during authentication?

    Could that explain an inconsistency?

I'm no auto guy, but he does have a cool signature.

    All the best.

  • Not really an inconsistency, signature seems to be at least an excellent forgery, hoping that it will come back authenticated. I'm now thinking, if the RE agent is hot, then I'll have to personally return the ball if it comes back bad. Maybe a win win situation.

  • I'm not familiar with Puig's signature. If he ever gets in the Hall of Fame then I might be interested.

But for those of you that are interested -- you might find some of the pics and discussion here of interest:
